Soldier on, Andy. If it keeps you from being a danger to yourself and/or others, it's good therapy.
I do think that ought to be, "Conservadrips" though, accuracy is important.
2/20/2011 10:50:31 AM
Yeah...this is coming from the guy who rejects the theory of relativity because "relativity" has some of the same letters as "relativism", and moral relativism is bad, so relativity must be wrong.
Forgive me if I can't bring myself to take him seriously.

What better way of proving the divinity of the Bible than by rewriting to fit your own agenda?

[re: naming it Conservative Bible Project or Conservapedia Bible Project]
"But I feel that "conservative" is an important term to continue to use in connection with this project. It indicates that we're not going to be fooled by, or allow, liberal distortions of the Bible."
(Oxford Online English Dictionary definition; emphasis added):
1: averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values
And Andy Schaftafly dares to call himself a 'teacher'?!
If you don't even know your own language's lexicon, nor the correct definitions of such, then you have no right to consider yourself an educator.
But if he thinks that the most radical changes to what is the definitive Scripture (certainly by the vast majority of Fundamentalist clergy in the US), then it proves what I've always said:
Hypocrisy. It's hardwired into the DNA of the right-wing.
I wonder how he'd like it, if we at FSTDT were to create a 'Liberal Bible Project', removing all the pointless, irrelevant, and dangerous supernatural elements in such? Oh yes, that's right, we don't need to, as it's already happened.
And by one of your country's own Founding Fathers, no less - Thomas Jefferson, who created the "Jefferson Bible".
Suck it, Andy.
2/20/2011 12:16:04 PM
Andy, you're going to need to do something about that mushy sermon on the mount. Maybe Jesus could say a few words about Real Americans.
2/20/2011 1:02:13 PM
Allegory for Jesus
" Look at how much liberals have complained about it. That's a good sign."
Laughing about it. Complaining about it. Same thing, right Andy?
2/20/2011 1:08:42 PM
@Horsefeathers, if other conservatives complain about Andy's projects they're No Real Conservatives(TM).
2/20/2011 1:12:03 PM
Conservaleaks? Really? What do they leak? Arse gravy?
2/20/2011 1:12:09 PM
I say we start the Liberal Bible Project.
2/20/2011 1:49:35 PM
Our "conservative" Bible project is one important way to negate the liberal distortions. Look at how much liberals have complained about it. That's a good sign.
Oh really? Then every time a Christian throws a shit fit about atheism that makes me automatically right? Oh wait, but, everyone repeat with me: "that's different".
2/20/2011 1:50:02 PM
What the hell!
2/20/2011 1:53:32 PM
In other words, the Bible doesn't tell Andy what to believe; he tells the Bible what he wants it to say. What good is the Bible as any kind of spiritual guide if liberals and conservatives can both make it agree with themselves at will?
2/20/2011 1:56:16 PM
I wonder what the Pope and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith have to say about this?
Or has Andy stopped being a Catholic.
2/20/2011 2:31:47 PM
Well I, for one, await the publication of this new translation most eagerly.
2/20/2011 2:38:08 PM
So you take the king jaems version and claim it has been liberalised by modern liberals? Then you take the SAME VERSION and use it as an original to retranslate into what you consider to be modern conservatism?
So the "conservative" bible is being created using the "liberal" bibles as the source?
How can this look like anything other than political grand standing?
2/20/2011 4:06:27 PM
Most awesome pic EVER. I don't think I've even seen that episode yet. XD Doesn't look familiar. But totally awesome.

Fundies Make Me Sick
The Bible is open to interpretation, therefore, there are no "conservative" or "liberal" distortions, just different views.
The key difference is that Liberals view it in an inclusive way, while Fundies view it in a way that allows them to justify their bigotry and hatred.
2/20/2011 4:38:16 PM
Those verses about helping the poor are obviously planted there by liberal socialists trying to push their agenda. No doubt Andy will soon discover the verses they hid:
"And Jesus said unto the poor, 'I got mine, so screw all a' y'all.' And He commanded them to get jobs."
2/20/2011 4:50:21 PM
conservaleaks? god how sad is the "conservative" life that you have to to lie and change everything? we have to keep reality and conservity separate but equal.
these people are worthless

2/20/2011 9:43:06 PM
Still curious to how Andy's gonna translate Revelation 22:18...
2/20/2011 10:41:37 PM
reality has a well-known liberal bias.
2/20/2011 10:49:46 PM
I was wondering whether there would be a 'Lolcats' version of the Conservapedia Babble.
2/21/2011 1:34:08 AM
so much for the irrefutable word of god...
