The whole "God mode" agenda

In some games, there is an "invincibility mode", which makes the player invulnerable to enemy attacks, so the player will not die. However in recent years, it seems the industry is changing the term "Invincibility mode" to "God mode". I think that this is another way Satan wants people to think that they are gods, when they are really not (Genesis 3:5). But there is only one God (Mark 12:32).

Because making Master Chief invincible means that:

A) You are Master Chief;
B) Master Chief is a god.

Right. 9_9

All that "God Mode" means is that your character is invincible, just like gods are. However, there's a big difference between sharing a quality with a god, and actually BEING a god, and those of us who aren't completely divorced from reality know this.

And you thought that 'God Mode' was bad enough eh, Andrew? Well, I guess Satan already has one up on God - especially the Trinity. You haven't mentioned such, so I guess Jebus doesnt know about it. Another gaming trick that exists will completely blow your mind:

Noclip.

So by virtue of your not mentioning such, not even the Holy Ghost himself knows of this concept!

(Using Noclip in games such as DOOM III, Quake IV, Prey etc is intriguing; exploring all the hidden areas and so on)

Umm, do you think he knows about the real meaning of the word 'avatar'? Perhaps not, as he'd have his fundamentalist knickers in a hell of a twist by now.

Geez, if these people think video games and stuff like that are the ULTIMATE EVIL, then what would happen if they knew that a girly-looking show like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is being watched by people who are obviously not little girls?

Ahhhh, someone who can't distinguish between fiction and reality. A.k.a. a religious person.

> recent years

Doom had a "God" cheat. I do not call that "recent".

Recent?

...oh that's right, you never heard of Doom, because the moment you heard there was a game that contained demons, you stuck your fingers in your ears and shrieked chants to keep the evil knowledge out.

What if I beat the game on normal, and then on my replays activate the cheat? Is that still falling under the influence of Satan?

Better not to tell Andrew about the Baldur's Gate series then, what with the main character being the son/daughter of a god (well, one among the many offsprings of said god, who isn't exactly the most reputable deity in Toril) and eventually having the option to become a full-fledged god... Or about Black & White. :P

@SpukiKitty:
"...They probably think kitties & puppies & bunnies are evil!"

Well, Xian fundies used to indulge in kitteh-burning because they associated them with witchcraft, and Islam considers dogs to be somewhat unclean. Dunno if there are religions that have something against bunneh (I did own one as a kid that was downright evil, in a reincarnation-of-Freddy-Krueger way, but he was a specific case)

... Of course! That's the only explanation for why a popular phrase is being used by a company in order to please the fan base.

Fundies Make Me Sick

It's sad how paranoid Fundie Christianity can make people. Andrew can't even enjoy video games anymore.

Man, he'd freak out if he played The Sims: I use to wall people off in tiny rooms and leave them to starve to death...I must be Satan incarnate!

Wouldn't God prefer people to feel a bit like him, since it only shows the difference between pooping in a sock and slaughtering the masses vs creating an intricate existence?

Wouldn't Satan want people to feel like shit and have no moderate escapism like gaming, for that matter?

Whining about 'God Mode' in games? In "Bayonetta", you can punch God into the sun to kill him. Not bad for a bespectacled witch with amnesia, prehensile hair, and .50 cal. heels.
