So the theory of evolution is the only thing standing between us and communist utopia?
Why wasn't I told this would be so easy, comrade?
12/21/2010 8:17:42 AM
The wonderful thing about dead people's opinions is the way they always match our own.
12/21/2010 8:43:40 AM
Wow... A comunist christian....
12/21/2010 9:15:06 AM
Yeah, we need a revolution to overthrow the Ruling Class! Power to the people, comrade!
... wait, what?
12/21/2010 9:15:24 AM
After careful reading and rereading I can truly say - what the hell is this person talking about?
12/21/2010 9:25:02 AM
Jezebel's Evil Sister
Ehh. Just another dumbfuck who thinks the long-out-of-use term "social darwinism" has something to do with evolution. What a maroon!

"Darwinism is the Big Lie that allows ruling class barbarians to conceptually dehumanize the Country Class, look down upon them in utter contempt and resentment, and run roughshod over them. Without their realizing it, the Country Class has been reduced to tax slaves to feed the insatiable appetites of the Ruling Class.
To destroy the power of Darwinism is to literally knock the pinnacle out from under ruling class barbarians, thereby casting them down to earth from atop their imagined lofty heights. Suddenly they will be just like the Country Class — fallible, sinful men made in the spiritual likeness of God the Father Almighty and subject to His moral laws. This is the true equality envisioned by the Founders."
PROTIP: "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" is not
a documentary, Linda. I love this series (character designs by CLAMP, natch) which became a phenomenon in Japan, but one can
go too far, methinks - even the yaoi fangirl shipping wars that went on whilst it was being aired & subbed (ah, whither Geass Sundays in 4chan's /a/?!).
Seems you weren't amongst those who drooled over Lelouch/Zero, Suzaku, Schneizel et al, but Charles zi Britannia, immortal & absolute ruler of the Holy Britannian Empire:
But then, Emperor Charles is
voiced by the Seiyuu God Norio Wakamoto (pbuh), so that's almost understandable! But not for the characters' own brand of hyper-Social Darwinism, surely?!

High taxes in the cities subsidize the first-world lifestyles of people who choose to live outside the cities. Without city taxpayers (who are mostly liberal, in Linda's viewpoint), rural Americans (who are mostly conservative, in Linda's viewpoint) wouldn't have reliable power, clean water, or roadways.
That's also true on a much larger scale - 80% of states in the United States are tax-feeders (they take more to maintain than they produce in tax revenues), and these largely-Republican states are kept aloft by the 20% of states (mostly liberal) that produce more than they cost to maintain.
But don't feel bad, Linda. Your grasp on economics brightened my day.
12/21/2010 9:59:41 AM
This is so wrong-headed on so many levels I don't even know where to begin!
12/21/2010 10:07:08 AM
Grigori Yefimovich wins the Internet.
PS, the mistaken idea that there are no such word as 'Darwinist' or 'Darwinism' or that they are inventions of creationists is often repeated on FSTDT. However, the words are quite common in Darwin's own country, England, and even Richard Dawkins uses the terms often. His 1976 article 'Universal Darwinism', for example. Stephen Jay Gould used it in a chapter title, and see also the Stanford University Encyclopedia's article on Darwinism.

I thought God was supposed to be the one who put people in power, and ordered slaves to serve their masters with loyalty.
Isn't that why Republican right-leaning Christians worship at the feet of the multi-billion-dollar oil, insurance, banking, and pharmaceutical companies? Helping them put everyone they can into poverty and desperation to exploit for their own profit? Not to mention guns, megachurches, and the Vatican?
Okay, maybe that's a bit on the side of hyperbole. But it makes me wonder sometimes...
And I hope they know that calling themselves the "Country Class" doesn't actually give ignorant, self-serving creationists any actual "class".
12/21/2010 10:54:23 AM
The fuck am I reading?
12/21/2010 11:03:08 AM
Is Country Class the upper 2%? Or the lower and middle classes? And Darwinism? That whole evolution, the whole organisms adapting to their environments? That has what to do with anything? Or did you mean social Darwinism?
12/21/2010 11:46:35 AM
Pitiful. You get your ass fucked by greedy people and all you do is blame it on smart people. I really hope that you realize just how little you know.
12/21/2010 12:18:46 PM
The Ruling Class? You mean the big tobacco companies who kept putting out false information about smoking and cancer for decades and kept people smoking? You mean the big insurance companies that lobbied to protect their health insurance business and managed to bamboozle millions of people into keeping the money flowing into the insurance companies' pockets? You mean the big oil companies who use front groups to sew doubts about global warming to keep us from developing alternatives to oil? I doubt that overturning evolution would affect those things very much.
12/21/2010 12:27:31 PM
*sigh*, you know if the "tax-slaves" were more educated, they wouldn't have the rich and powerful trample over them. Of course, learning about evolution, would be one step to stopping stupidity. In that manner, you're totally ruining it for everyone.
12/21/2010 12:29:05 PM
Science is based on evidence, we have the evidence we win.
12/21/2010 1:03:28 PM
Sorry you did so poorly in 5th grade biology Linda.
12/21/2010 1:12:19 PM
The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.
Yes, socially engineered by God (not Darwin)
Big fail bitch
12/21/2010 1:18:06 PM
Grigori, you beat me to it!
12/21/2010 1:20:14 PM
umm...wut? The founders opposed Evolution?
Surely you must know that Darwin wasnt around when the founding fathers were active, nor was his theory.
12/21/2010 1:30:19 PM
Whats the country class?
12/21/2010 1:35:47 PM
You know, there are ruling class barbarians... but it's not the people you think they are. Most of them run fox news... ring a bell?
12/21/2010 1:59:07 PM
Isn't Google wonderful
12/21/2010 2:22:43 PM
The Theory of Evolution (not Darwinism) is simply a scientific explanation. That some people would misuse it for political gain does not mean we should ignore the theory any more than someone shoving people off bridges and claiming they are helping gravity bring those people closer to the Earth means we should deny gravity.
fallible, sinful men made in the spiritual likeness of God the Father Almighty and subject to His moral laws. This is the true equality envisioned by the Founders.
Yeah! And that's why they made sure there was a separation of church and state. I know that whenever I want to make my intentions come to fruition I also do the exact fucking opposite.
