Yeah right. The commercialization of Christmas neutered it long before any supposed 'cultural fascists' came on the scene. Before anyone said anything about diversity Santa Claus was already more a prominent figure for this holiday than Jesus. And how can one be a 'cultural fascist' anyway when they're promoting diversity? Although not fascist, it seems much closer to being fascist to claim that there is only one way to celebrate the season.

First, I wasn't aware that Christmas had an ontological, physical existence, at least enough to be neutered. That's a pretty funny sight. Second, the people who hate Christmas are the ones who refuse to believe all the lies and deceptions that go along with it, and have it forced down their throats and in their brains. For my own part, as a convert to Buddhism, I have no real problem with secular Christmas, especially because of my kids. But, if Christmas went away, because the Christian nutjobs decided that it couldn't be celebrated by non-believers, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

WTF is a "multicultural religion?" And how is acknowledging Christmas along with other holidays "neutering" it?

"Merry Christmas" only implies that I want you to be happy on December 25. "Happy Holidays" implies that I also want you to be happy on the dates of Thanksgiving, Hannukah, New Year's Eve, Yule/solstice, and any other days that are celebrated by people as holidays. That's a lot more days.

Why do you assume it's about "neutering" christmas? Is it not at all possible that it's really because there actually are at least four, if not more, holidays occurring near the end of december? Or is it really all about your persecution complex and refusal to believe that the world does not revolve around you.

Who said this was about non christians "hating" christmas? You likely haven't met one because that isn't the issue. It's not about non christians "hating" christmas, it's about some christian fundamentalists whining about imaginary persecution because some businesses acknowledge the incontravertible fact that there or other religious holidays happening at the same time.

This whole issue started with christians complaining about businesses giving the "Happy Holidays" greeting because there are multiple holidays at the end of december and a persons religious affiliation isn't usually obvious on sight. But these christian, with the help of their mouthpieces Bill O'reilly and yourself, decided that christianity and it's late december holiday deserved cultural supremacy and special recognition to the exclusion of all others. It's christians crying Persecution!!! when in fact they are the one doing the persecuting.
