Your determination to ram the Catholic faith down everyone's throat is why people hate Christmas. The hypocrisy of you and others like you is why people hate religion in general, because their loudest spokesmen give the worst representation possible. Believe it or not, there are people out there who have had different life experiences than you and have come to different conclusions about life than you; ignoring difference doesn't make it go away.
If you truly love your faith and wish to advance its cause, shut up and go away. Let your actions instead of your vitriolic words represent what you believe; then again, in your case, a little reflection on either just makes me want to punch you in the face.

Fascism is now "let everyone celebrate the winter solstice however they want", is it?
I thought fascism was restricting freedom, not promoting it.
Don't you hate Hanukka or Kwanzaa? What makes your hatred more respectable than their hatred?
If indeed there is hatred towards Christmas at all. To me it seems people from all kinds of religions celebrate Christmas AND their own end-of-year feast.

Here we go again.....
12/6/2010 5:35:04 AM
Whatever happened to "Do to others as you would have them do to you"?
12/6/2010 5:39:31 AM
I'm an ex-Muslim, now atheist yet I love Christmas time. Reminds me of school holidays, less traffic, cool stuff in stores, cool movies released at this time of year, 13th cheque, pretty lights everywhere, and here in South Africa it's summer time.
I love Christmas time.
12/6/2010 5:45:08 AM
Tell me again who is waging war on christmas?
12/6/2010 6:08:23 AM
I thought those people (if they even exist) were pushing their multicultural religion full time. Get your story straight, and then get back to us.
12/6/2010 6:13:11 AM
Cultural fascists invoke ‘diversity’ every December as cover for neutering Saturnalia—they never choose some other month to practice their Christian religion. And by the way, who are these people from other religions who hate Saturnalia? I never met one. It would be more accurate to say that it’s precisely the persons who make this charge who hate Saturnalia.
12/6/2010 6:30:15 AM
"neutering Christmas" I'm definitely stealing that phrase :). Sounds like the name of some snuff porno.
12/6/2010 6:38:18 AM
So it's offensive if I, as an atheist, celebrate Christmas and offensive if I don't.
December is home to Christian, Jewish, African, Muslim, Pagan, and Hindu holidays. Maybe even more. They're all very sacred and/or meaningful, so stop claiming you own December. Which gets all the music and marketing anyway?
12/6/2010 6:56:24 AM
Recognizing that their are other religous holidays in the month of December is not the same thing as hating and trying to destroy Christmas.
12/6/2010 7:03:48 AM
So who exactly hates Christmas? It's not the ones who want to include everyone in the festive season by saying "Happy Holidays." It's more like the ones who want to exclude others for not celebrating in the proper manner.
Does Bill's last three sentences here make it sound like he's blaming the Christians for the "war on Christmas?"
12/6/2010 7:17:00 AM
Two questions for everyone complaining about "Happy Holidays:"
Why don't you want Christmas to be a holiday?
And why do you want Christmas to be a sad occasion?
12/6/2010 7:18:40 AM
A quote from December 2008?? Can we try to keep it current.
12/6/2010 7:19:47 AM
I'd prefer to neuter fundie Christians, myself.
12/6/2010 7:30:08 AM
... Oh wait, it's Bill Donohue. He's more of a disgrace to Catholics than the Pope, which is truly saying something.
12/6/2010 7:30:23 AM
Eh, 's just Bill, angry that he's not getting any attention.
12/6/2010 8:10:18 AM
I don't think Christmas has recieved any form of neutering.
12/6/2010 8:14:14 AM
"Cultural fascists invoke ‘diversity’ every December as cover for neutering Christmas—they never choose some other month to practice their multicultural religion. And who were the cultural thieves who stole the originally Pagan Winter Solstice Festival, hmmmmm?
According to professors of theology, and Biblical historians, the 'Nativity' happened some time in September. Your call, Bill.
Christianity. A religion so bereft of original concepts, it had to steal other beliefs' holidays and claim such as their own.
Bill Donohue? I'd prefer Phil Donohue, thanks. And I generally don't watch confrontational talk shows, as a rule. Too IQ-destroying.
12/6/2010 8:19:40 AM
Name another month where Christians try to force one of their holidays on everyone else?
There isn't one. Not even Easter, which is supposed to actually hold greater theological significance for Christians: Christ's birth was not supposed to be nearly as important as his death.
Christians invoke 'tradition' every December as cover for enforcing Christmas -- they never choose some other month to practice their evangeliz...wait, you do, you just don't do it as hard as you do in December, my bad.
12/6/2010 8:25:04 AM
Not many days to go before it's Gimmeemas Day once more. I do look forward to opening my presents and gifts on Gimmeemas Day morning. I hope I get a cross for Gimmeemas so that I can ward off vampires. Or is it to ward off Catholic Fathers? I keep mixing them up. Well, it's one or the other, maybe both.
12/6/2010 8:34:51 AM
they never choose some other month to practice their multicultural religion
It's probably because Xtians took over all the pagan religions like the winter solstice and Easter. The worst part is they now firmly believe that they have exclusive rights to the winter holiday season and nobody should be allowed to not be constantly reminded of their supposed savior's birth.
12/6/2010 8:34:52 AM
YOU STOLE THAT HOLIDAY FROM PAGANS, YOU DIMWIT!!
12/6/2010 9:18:55 AM
Please help keep the festivity in check, have your holidays spayed or neutered!
12/6/2010 9:57:19 AM
I don't think anyone "hates" Christmas. People just hate having it shoved down our throats from September until late December. It wears thin after a while you know.
