It was a lot of encouraging children to get an education and work hard and not let other people convince them they're doomed to failure. How is that a bad thing? I swear, Obama could walk out into the Rose Garden in April, off handedly remark about it being a lovely spring day, and the RR crowd would talk about his upcoming persecution of Christians with hay fever.

Hell, I'm convinced that if Obama declared a personal awakening and that he was now 100% opposed to abortion, there'd be a segment of the Rapture Ready crowd that would join Planned Parenthood.

A little further up the thread we find:

I opted my kids out of the first speach. I sent a letter to their school saying that I did not agree with the socialist agenda of the usurper and my children would not be indoctrinated into the obama youth. My daughter told me her teacher gasped when she read the letter.

A parent objecting to their child attending a 'speach' in favour of education would make me gasp too, let alone the rest of the nonsense.

If I'd had a speech like that from the president at the time, or anyone in a position of authority actually, I think I would have done a better job in school.

Now for your more typical RR poster, who does NOT have any sense (sense of irony included):

the other day I was visiting my parents and found an interesting permission slip on the table.
my youngest sister goes to a public middle school, and it was a form for parents to sign if they did NOT want their child watching the presidential address to students.

WTF. he's the freakin' president talking about freakin' education, it's not a PG13 movie.
