I don't know why this guy confidently put atoms first. The understanding that atoms preceded life and the fossil record is, of course, logical, but the evidence that this is how it happened is no stronger than the basic evidence of the fossil record itself. Frankly, this guy ought to also leave atoms as a question mark, and leave man standing there alone, since that is what he believes. Nothing, then nothing, then nothing, then BAM!!!! Humans!

Is it wrong to give the comic credit for not including the Big Bang as part of evolutionary theory (even though they still seem to slap in abiogenesis)?
But yeah...there are specifics for the fossil records, along with comparative anatomy of present animals along with genetic analysis, that might help get a little more detailed account of potential evolutionary timeline than "fossil record -> humans".
