I REFUSE to see PRINCE OF PERSIA. Even if there are no bad words or cussing because..... the prince of persia in the bible is a demonic spirit. For those of you who don't know read... Daniel 10:10-15. The angel Michael was fighting with the "prince of persia" which is a fallen angel working for the evil one. This fallen spirit was trying to hinder Michael from delivering a message to Daniel.

Ho hum! Such is the competitive nature of wannabe aerial claspers. In their eagerness to show their worthiness for eternal mansion haunting they're like hyper-active kiddies with an endless sugar supply trying to out-do one another. It's like a gabbling competition for morons.

I suspect that they've found the right cult to suit their airy-fairy, bubbling-over personalities though. The truth is, we prefer slightly calmer dolts in my cult. Though, the ignorance and stupidity shown by princesstiki is quite admirable, even if it is a trifle unnatural and somewhat forced.

So I guess The Devil in Miss Jones is right out then?

Prof. Bill Hill: You are right on with the hyperactive kiddies comment. Their development was halted at about the equivalent of age 5 or 6 by the Carlin Paradox.

"Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man . . . living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of 10 specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time . . . but he loves you!"

I REFUSE to see the PRINCE OF WALES.
Because he is a adulterous anti-science wacko who is an embarrassment to the UK.

Uh, Persia was an empire for a lot longer than the book of Daniel. I'm sure there were plenty of princes of Persia who weren't demonic spirits.

I refuse to see "The Prince of Persia" as well, but that's because of the blatant whitewashing of the characters. Seriously, do we really need another "white hero saves the day and the girl from the brown villain" movie? Especially considering that the story is supposed to be taking place in PERSIA? I wasn't aware that Jake Gyllenhaal was Iranian or Middle-Eastern in any way.

But in any case, princesstiki is still loony.

Bad words OR cussing?

You know, you dopes think Satan was the snake in Genesis so do you avoid every snake and item with a snake mentioned or pictured in it? Jesus was killed on a cross yet you accept that as a holy symbol. How 'bout nails. They were used to crucify Christ. Do you eschew all nails? Just askin'.

In short, you refuse to see a movie about a fictional character because of a similarly named fictitious character in your favourite book of fairy tales was portrayed as evil.
Yeah, that makes sense.

The idiocy of this kind of thinking is beyond mere stupidity. The sons of the Shahs of Iran were all princes of Persia.

Then the word 'cussing'. It's not standard English. It's a kind of hillbilly word to my way of thinking. If you mean 'cursing' then for heaven's sake say so. Otherwise you make me say words like 'Fuck'.

Finally you are not averse to calling yourself 'princess'. And isn't Tiki a Polynesian god - a demon by your light, no doubt? Are you sure you are not a demoness?. And yes, that is a standard English word.

I REFUSE to see PRINCE OF PERSIA

Me too! In fact, I refuse to listen to music by Prince, and I just threw out my Persian rug and gave away my Persian cat, too. And I'm not going to Princeton or smoke "Prince Albert" tobacco in my pipe any more, either!

Damn demons - we all know how they'll infect you no matter how many degrees of separation you put between yourself and them.

Okay, this is utter fail from the moment when she ignored that these are different characters. But I couldn't resist and looked up the passage from the book of Daniel she is referring to - where does it speak of demons?

10. And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11. And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
15. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

Oh, look: there's multiple kings, at least two princes, and one seems to be one of the good guys?

So... has anybody seen this movie who actually liked it? I was thinking of seeing it since I like the Sands of Time trilogy, but I haven't heard anything good about it.

Well, unless you count the fact that it's mere existence pisses off fundies. I suppose that could be worth the price of admission alone.
