Quote# 74493

I'm proud that Texas (along with only Alaska) opted out of the federal curriculum-standard mandates, as the 10th Amendment to the Constitution prescribes for us. Texas refused to participate in order to keep control of what is taught at our public schools. We certainly don't need the federal government's help raising or educating our kids. That is what has allowed us to be independent and autonomous over our curriculum. For example, while federal courts have banned educational options like intelligent design in biology, many who are involved in the curricula decision-making process in the Lone Star State believe there is a place for it somewhere in academia, if even in classes on government. If God were good enough for our founders and Creator-language important enough to be in pivotal documents like the Declaration of Independence, then why can't our kids be educated about that Creator from at least their original documents?

And with those words the phrase "Texas diploma" rose to stand foursquare with "Kentucky colonel". Henceforth to be ever after known as an honorary award conferring no rights or duties upon its holder.

Chuck Norris

All the acting ability of a cigar-store wooden indian.

His ignorant statement does beg the question, however; can Chuck Norris roundhouse kick a bullet out of the way?

I had occasion to meet some 14-year old Public School students in Dallas in 1972. Their description of school life went something like this:

"Talking out of turn? That's a paddlin'. Lookin' out the window? That's a paddlin'. Staring at my sandals? That's a padddlin'. Paddlin' the school canoe? Oh, you better believe that's a paddlin'." (Jasper, The Simpsons, The PTA Disbands)

I'm not sure I'd use the word "proud" to describe the Texas school system, but then I'm not crazy.

Well, I'm sure all of Texas' branches of McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell et al need all the staff they can get.

Meanwhile, the University of Georgia are creating 1 THz processors, for use in the telecommunications industry, the DoD etc.

Thank fuck that not all Texans think like the now inferior milquetoast Jesusfag Chuck Norris. Two Words:

Lance Armstrong.

"can Chuck Norris roundhouse kick a bullet out of the way?"

Richard Dawkins can roundhouse kick Chuck Norris back to his pre-amoebic state ('Primordial Soup') with just a few words of Atheistic logic.

I think the best thing the Lone Star (John Wayne?) State and Alaska could do would be to defect to Afghanistan.

Declaration of Independence is not a fucking law document Chuck, you've taken one too many kicks to the head.

And public schools in Texas (or any state for that matter) aren't going to be legally teaching intelligent design any time soon dumbass.

The only good thing I know about Chuck Norris are those hilarious lists of "facts" circulating the Internet. His movies weren't even all that good.

Sometimes I wish Texas would opt out of the country.

And the D of I only mentions a "creator," only Christians take that to mean "God." And it doesn't matter how much the D of I uses the word, since the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states that this is not a Christian nation, despite what all the Christian nationalists claim.

Ok, witch creator though. If you give time to one religion Chuck, then we have to give time to every religion. How about we spend some time studying Allah, after all, there was a huge population of Muslims that came to the Spanish colony of New Mexico. So it is only fair right? Lets see how long you cling to "religious freedom" when your kids are also bringing home pamphlets about Allah.
