Religion should be banned and those promoting it should be sent to prison for life without parole.

@Brigged, Brigger or whatever
what does mars have to do with it?
any way, by your argument, compassion got india to the moon, so it's not outside possibility.
6/9/2010 11:26:57 AM
"(sigh). The minds sees what it wants to see... the both of you are not being as clever as you think. Do you even know what the word objectivity means?"
Oh my, that's a shiny mirror you have here !
Of course, you still didn't give the answer to my question. There's necessarily a reason that you've come to think I would hold such a naive and idealistic belief. Now, is there a
reason, did I say something that could realistically be interpreted as implying this, or is it just because you're a pretentious idiot who loves to believe he can read the minds of lesser beings ?
6/9/2010 11:29:20 AM
Nope, not at all..not even a little.

DOS Et AL
Wow thats quite the fabrication. Thanks for reinforing in me that petty insults are welcomed here. Now i dont feel bad at all for calling all you atheists, pricks. And NO, non christians interpretations mean shit to christians because they dont look at scripture from the perspective of a believer. They may know ABOUT scripture, but their knowledge/intepretation is in no way shape or form valid to believers.
"You're more of just an asshole"
And proud of it. And it seems with all the fundie atheists on here that im in good company. This whole place is nothing but a forum for assholes.
Non Christian shouldn't be able to form an opinion on the Bible
No i said that their opinions are NOT valid, and carry no weight, certainly not to Christians. I didnt say you shouldnt be able to form an opinion. I just said youd be deluded to think your opinion means shit to any Christian believer.
"You stated many times openly that you look forward to civil war"
And i stand by that. This country is too divided and neither the atheists nor the other side will stop till the other sides beliefs are destroyed. Just look at the political system. However, implying im dangerous because i WANT that to happen is nonsense. ONE guy isnt going to start a civil war.
6/9/2010 1:59:43 PM
Just decided to look at this one, seems like I missed some good fun. Just to get it out of the way, yes, William T Goodall sounds like someone to be wary of, very contentious, and judging on that one small sentence of his above, someone who I hope never obtains any political power. Someone who sounds like a bit of a prick.
Also, on reading through the thread, Brigged came across as an antagonistic big-head, one of those tiresome and humourless pedantic bores. Someone to whom everybody else is blind because they are unable to see the plain and simple truths as propounded by his good self of course. Is Brigged actually William T Goodall? DOS was his usual stupid self. Everyone else was pretty cool.
6/9/2010 2:09:03 PM
Why are you all so convinced that it's OK for people to believe in things that are wrong? Where did this idea come from? It's not OK to believe an invisible grimp is talking to your mind, but it is OK to believe an invisible man is talking to your mind? The statements are almost identical!
You believe people should be free to believe in whatever they want. I challenge you to ask yourself why.
The choice is that I decide what is right, or somebody else does. Note that I do not grant that right to others, but even if I were willing to do so, how would we decide who should have that authority?
Majority vote? The majority of people are religious, presumably even you would not grant them the authority to determine what's right.
Consensus of Scientists on the basis of the evidence they have? Einstein should have deferred to Newtonianism?
You? I'm not prepared to give you that right.
On every issue I know there are people who are both smarter and better educated than me on opposing sides. I'm sure the same is true of you.
People should be free to believe what they choose to believe so that those who are actually right can believe what's true unconstrained by those who merely think they have the truth.
6/9/2010 2:11:11 PM
@ DOS Et AL
".... and carry no weight, certainly not to Christians."
Nobody's thoughts carry any weight with Christians, at least, not the fundie kind, unless those thoughts be the kind of extreme right-wing nonsense and cant that one can find on forums all over the web. Whereas DOS's thoughts don't carry any weight with anyone at all, except for DOS himself, and possibly his mother, if she can hear his feeble mumbling coming from the basement.
Still, DOS being a religious fundie and therefore not an atheist, surely disqualifies him from opining on almost anything vaguely resembling a subject that requires an intellectual response.
6/9/2010 2:23:20 PM
Hardeep is against religion but is a theist
6/9/2010 3:24:59 PM
What? After all that, Brigged left? But I just got around to reading this thing again! Well damn... and here I was looking forward to a chance to take my harsher rationalities out for a spin. So much for that opportunity.
6/9/2010 5:44:29 PM
Fascists on one side and fascists on the left.
Everyone notice how DOS and Brigged never once flamed each other?
Their positions are Not So Different.

Very true. Good call

DOS Et AL
Lol. Seriously you're good at mocking. Very amusing. I look forward to what other amusing attempts at insulting me youll come up with. Now i ve got to stay on FSTDT.
6/9/2010 7:12:24 PM
Alright, first of all, you cock-devouring anal mercenary, I'm not an atheist. I just happen to hate antagonistic fundamentalist wastes of semen like yourself. Also, didn't you say that non-Christians(Specifically Dawkins) have no right to criticize the Pope for allowing
? So either you're defending the Church against
because you're such a fucking dumbass that you think it should be perfectly alright for
little group to rape kids or do whatever the fuck they want just because
one of them, or you're defending the Church against
because you want to rape children. Or both. Yeah, I'm thinking both.
And, yeah, you really
an asshole. A bitter, hate-filled asshole who hates everyone and yet throws a bitch-fit over the slightest fucking thing, and who thinks it to be the fault of 'dem damn wimminz' that you can't get any pussy. Ever thought, I dunno, maybe it's
EDIT: Oh, and also, explain to me why nothing a non-Christian says about the Bible has any worth? Unless you admit that nothing you say about atheists, muslims, women and whatever else you fucking hate has any worth either, and that you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, I see no reason that anything a non-Christian says about the Bible should be inherently wrong just by virtue of it being said by a non-Christian. I probably know a hell of a lot more about your Bible than you. You are one of the most un-Christ-like people I've ever been made familiar with.
6/9/2010 8:08:16 PM
Can we PLEASE bookmark quotes like this so that when Christians come here saying we're picking on them, we can prove them wrong?
6/9/2010 8:22:00 PM
No, because we ARE picking on them. We're just not picking on them exclusively.
6/9/2010 8:34:59 PM
If we ban religion we become exactly what we fight. To ban it is to confirm every nasty thing said about atheists, secularists and agnostics.
Society will evolve beyond religion. As an agnostic secularist, I truly believe this.
Plus? Banning religion entirely misses the point of fighting fundamentalism. Fundies are the distortion of religion in the service of prejudice, hatred, discrimination, bigotry, etc. Religion is none of those things inherently.
Seriously: banning religion is an act of overt extremism. To me, the person that seeks to ban religion is the same kind of person that we would (and have) quoted here, just the other side of the coin, a fundamentalist in a different form.
Religion is not our enemy. Fundamentalism and extremism are.
6/9/2010 9:05:38 PM
@ Saladin--truly a rightous rant.
6/9/2010 9:51:40 PM
It sort of amuses me how fundie the comments over here got almost immediately.
I want to take a whole bunch of these "Religion is the most dangerous thing" comments and swap in "atheism" for "religion" the way we do for the religious fundie comments. Hell's bells, y'all.
6/9/2010 10:10:54 PM
DOS Et AL
"Also, didn't you say that non-Christians(Specifically Dawkins) have no right to criticize the Pope for allowing child-rape?"
No i didnt,FYI other people have been posting as me. Blease find where i said they cant criticize the sex abuse scandal? I defend the church, not the abuse, and i dont think this scandal, as sad though it is gives any one the right to call the chuch to turn itself into a democracy. So please do find where i said child rape is ok specifically.
6/9/2010 10:11:47 PM
@Ryuutchi : yeah, sure, whatever. You'll have a hard time finding a "whole bunch" of those comments, since there's barely a half-dozen of them. Sure, some people believed it was a troll, but that doesn't mean they're condoning Goodall's words. Quite the contrary.
Also, Fundie Index 112. That's quite high for something we're supposed to cheer on like the hypocritical atheist fundies we are, don't you think ?
6/10/2010 3:39:07 AM
Saladin's edit carries a good point. I can't wait to see how DOS responds to it (If he does).
Further on this note though, using DOS' logic, Saladin would be making a point. Any Christian idea shouldn't carry any weight towards anything outside of the Bible or church due to them not having the proper "out look" at it. Same with any religion really.
Now, I must point out that I was jokingly meaning this. Personally, any opinion is ok with me on an issue. As long as said opinion doesn't cause harm to fall on anyone, I am fine with people saying it.
6/10/2010 10:28:46 AM
Gosh! Really! You were gonna leave!? Cor Blimey! Luv-a-duck!! etc!, etc!
But you decided to stay because of little ol' me. Aw! Sometimes you are just so cute. Deary me, you've got me feeling all guilty now. I mean, even though you are a self confessed liar, it's really difficult for me not to believe you this time. (Note to self. Is that a bad case of wind I've got or am I grinning madly for some odd, perhaps subconscious, reason?)
Wow! We are becoming regular little buddies ain't we. We got our own little mutual appreciation society going here. You love me so much because I mock you real good, and I, well, shall we say, er, I enjoy a good laugh? Yes, That's it. I enjoy a good laugh. Let's leave it at that shall we, except to mention that I'm looking forward to your forthcoming inanities. Good luck buddy.
6/10/2010 10:36:12 AM
Indeed. In fact, the only difference I've seen between DOS and Brigged is that one believes in god and one doesn't; that's it (oh, and I guess the usernames too).
6/10/2010 12:23:38 PM
Now i dont feel bad at all for calling all you atheists, pricks.
Okay, I can play your game too.
"You're more of just an asshole"
And proud of it.
Therefore every single Christian in the entire world, past, present, and future including those I've never met before in my life are all assholes and proud of it. You see how stupid that is?
