Quote# 72540

This was a ploy to shut Hovind up. He was on to something and THEY KNEW IT.. If men were to realize they were NOT monkeys by accident, but rather were subject to an Almighty God who gave them unalienable rights, then this would pee in the cheerios of any Darwinistic/Marxist government that would try to oppress them or control them. Down with the NWO!!

So if Hovind weren't saying evolution is fake, everyone would have just ignored the laws he broke?

4/26/2010 3:28:03 PM

Wow, we've got a two for one special.

Yes, he was onto a way to cheat the government while the rest of us hardworking, law-abiding non-Christian saps paid our taxes. Why are you Christians so immoral???

4/26/2010 3:32:02 PM

GigaGuess

He was not persecuted.

He cheated on his taxes.

He BRAGGED about cheating on his taxes.

He tried to weasel out of the charges by means of loopholes, and not the innocence you proclaim.

When the government offered to work with him, he promptly spit in their face.

He is a liar, and a criminal, and as such, he's now the pussy for Cell Block C.

Hovind was on to nothing. His "science" against evolution was the equivalent of chimps throwing feces. The lying son-of-a-bitch got caught "not rendering unto Caesar" and he's in jail because of it.
Case closed.

TGRwulf

Or you know, it could just be that he's a fraud and a tax cheat.

I hate to piss in your cheerios, but we are, in fact (very, very basically) "monkeys by accident"

4/26/2010 4:05:46 PM

Telamon

"Pee in the cheerios?" I lost it on that one!XD

Well, sorry to burst your bubble, Ryan, but Hovind lied to the government and committed tax fraud. That is why he is in jail. Granted, the lies he told to impressionable Christian children were as horrendous as his other crimes, but free speech is extended even to idiots and charlatans.

4/26/2010 4:17:13 PM

For Christ's sake, there are recordings of his telephone conversations in custody in which he is clearly attempting to hide his assets from the IRS and break the law (again).

How can anyone not accept that the man broke the law and got what was coming to him.

4/26/2010 4:20:55 PM

Yeah, big ploy. They found someone who admittedly didn't pay taxes and took him down. How do they do it?

4/26/2010 4:28:07 PM

John

So why did they lock up Kent but not Ken Ham and his "Answers in Genesis" ministry or Philip Johnson, the author of "Darwin on Trial"? And why was Kent ratted out by fellow evangelical Baptist and vice president of Pensacola Christian College, Rebekah Horton?

4/26/2010 4:29:26 PM

Yeah, he was on to a way to cheat his taxes, thus denying money to public institutions that ensure that people have at least some access to the services they expect the government to provide. Like food stamps and public schools.

4/26/2010 4:47:34 PM

I read about the afterlife

It was a ploy that he didn't pay taxes?

"If men were to realize they were NOT monkeys by accident,"

Almost all men (and women too!) do in fact realize this. Apparently you realize nothing about evolution.

By the way, Jesus gave you the unalienable right to pay taxes. And Paul gave you the unalienable right to support your government. Try reading your bible.

Darwinistic/Marxist government -- that would be very opposing. Social darwinism is very popular in the US. It's called capitalism.

Ryan -- I suggest you not open your mouth.

Sisyphus

All he needs is to play the race card and we've got the trifecta!

I hope Kent never quiets down. He is the ultimate cheap entertainment.

Sure, if one of your own does illegal things and gets caught and imprisoned, this can, of course, only be a plot to silence him and not the punishment that he deserved

;)

Kent Hovind is a criminal by law
Kent Hovind is liar
Kent Hovind is bonkers

4/26/2010 5:13:29 PM

Being convicted of tax evasion =\= a ploy to shut Kent Hovind up.

4/26/2010 5:17:16 PM

Tax evasion. It isn't exactly a victimless crime.

Almighty God gave us unalienable rights? Really, now?

"This was a ploy to shut Hovind up."

I'm pretty sure nothing can shut that guy up.

"He was on to something and THEY KNEW IT.."

The rallying cry of every conspiracy nut that's ever existed.

"If men were to realize they were NOT monkeys by accident, but rather were subject to an Almighty God who gave them unalienable rights, then this would pee in the cheerios of any Darwinistic/Marxist government that would try to oppress them or control them. Down with the NWO!!"

Even Hovind would find you strange.

anevilmeme

Those evil darwinists used their mind control ray to trick Kent into forgetting to pay his taxes.

If people are trying to shut Hovind up, they're doing a damn poor job of it. His videos are still freely distributed and he's allowed to publish written works from jail. For example, this one, where he claims to be chatting with Ardipithecus Ramidus. Why should we shut him up to discredit him when he discredits himself every time he speaks?
