USA is again on the strange side, UK as the rest of Europe uses DD/MM/YYYY and not MM/DD/YYYY which really don;t make any sense at all. I could understand YYYY/MM/DD but the day in the middle makes no sense.

Hah! If you think that's ridiculous, consider this: Lions also happen to be the chosen heraldic animals of Finland. ...and a lot of other Northern European countries. Because back in the day, the heraldry people ran out of imagination. "Something that evokes nobleness and courage? Um... lion?"
