Read about God's holy genocides in the Old Testament. While you're at it, read about current terrorism in the name of Jesus. Then get back to us.

I dunno, the God of the Bible is often a giant prick to everyone who doesn't kiss his feet.
4/2/2010 4:31:18 AM
Ever read Exodus? I take it you haven't.
4/2/2010 4:37:45 AM
Of course, Allah is just a bad plagiarism of YHWH, and he's a pretty badly written character himself.
If only the religious texts where as interesting and insightful as the Discworld series...
4/2/2010 5:02:40 AM
Guess you can't be a Christian either
4/2/2010 5:25:59 AM
As crudely worded as it may be, there is no fundamentalism in claiming Christians do not worship the deity who allegedly authored the Quran.
Even if they might stem from the same tradition, even if the Quran has obviously incorporated simple and heavily modified versions of Biblical stories, even if the old testament is replete with stories that are eerily similar to the abhorrent instructions found in the Quran.
Muslims need to believe the God of the Jews and the Christians is the same as theirs (according to the tenets of their own religion Islam is the 'pure' version of Christians and Jews).
For Christians the opposite is true. Similarly we shouldn't expect a Jew to accept Jesus to be the messiah and the actual Son of God.

God of Abraham, phed. The only difference is the lies that are told. Every super hero needs a nemesis, hence Satan. All part of the same bullshit and practically interchangeable at whim. "Gott Mit Uns!" Fnord.
4/2/2010 5:48:51 AM
Hutaree's God is the God of the Bible, so he's a god of terrorism, too.
4/2/2010 5:57:22 AM
I'm pretty sure the god of the bible, especially in the old testament, hated a lot of people. Otherwise, what was with all that smiting?
4/2/2010 6:00:35 AM
So the Jesus mentioned in the koran, the one sent to earth by god who can perform miracles is a totally different Jesus than the one in the bible?
4/2/2010 6:14:00 AM
Yes, just look at all the things ALLAH does:
"The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords." (Hosea 13:16 NLT)
"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth." Genesis 7:4
""Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." Numbers 31:17-18
Whoops, wrong "holy" book.
4/2/2010 6:15:35 AM
Oh, please. You'd convert to islam if there is a big gun pointed at you. You are that big of a chicken hawk.
4/2/2010 6:23:41 AM
Look at history. Especially the Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades. People have killed and commited acts of terrorism in the name of your god.
4/2/2010 6:25:24 AM
THe difference is that so many of Allah's followers are OVERTLY terroristic, whereas fundie Christians just dream about it and rant on the computer.
4/2/2010 6:26:40 AM
My god's dick is bigger than your god's dick.
4/2/2010 6:38:30 AM
Exodus 22:20 (KJV)
He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
4/2/2010 6:54:41 AM
"There is difference between the God of Terrorism, God of Hate, Satan AKA ALLAH to GOD OF THE BIBLE, God of Judaism and Christianity"
"I'll never believe in Allah, you f'ing terrorist"
You already do. In two ways:
1- God = Allah. Do your research. Preferably a degree in Theology. They're one and the same, cunt-for-brains.
2- You already worship the ultimate terrorist: God. He murdered millions in the Flood. That includes all the women with child. Which means you also worship an abortionist.
Now you know why Atheism exists, Naor.
4/2/2010 7:05:53 AM
Sure...both religions claim to follow in Abraham / Ibrahim's footsteps. I am not arguing that. Imagine that I cooked up a religion in which I worship a deity named 'Allbright Aynstayn' who is a space alien as well as the inventor of the speed of light. I also claim it is the same 'Aystayn' most people today know as Einstein, but that my version of Einstein is the true version.
Would it be unreasonable for you to say; well Phed that's all dandy but they 'Aynstayn' you talk about is not my Einstein, who's not even a god to begin with but a brilliant theoretical physicist.
Prima facie their is nothing fundamentalist for a Christian to deny Allah is the same as Yahweh.
@ Danny Noonan "So the Jesus mentioned in the koran, the one sent to earth by god who can perform miracles is a totally different Jesus than the one in the bible?"
Yes. The Quran is very specific that Jesus is a mere mortal and goes out of its way to deny his divinity, his immaculate conception and his being part of the trinity. All of which are part and parcel of the Christian belief system.
It's obvious that the Quran's author intends to talk about the same person, but likewise it should also be obvious that Allah's opinion on the matter is not the same as the one Christians believe their God to have.
4/2/2010 7:07:55 AM
You already do. They're the same god viewed from slightly different angles.
Remember the poem about the six blind men and the elephant?
4/2/2010 7:13:49 AM
Last I checked, Arab Christians also say Allah. It's a title, not a name, cockbag.
4/2/2010 8:10:22 AM
*sigh* The problem with religion, any religion, (imo) is that people tend to only focus on the really crazy people, because they're easy to remember and really easy to point to as being wrong. (This site being a good showcase of those crazies :) ). But claiming out and out that Allah is a horrible God to follow because "They have terrorists!" is just dumb. There are plenty of non-terrorists who believe in Allah, Naor. Just like there are terrorists who believe in GOD OF THE BIBLE. And terrorists who believe in any religion.
4/2/2010 8:12:46 AM
Funny thing is that Islam has the same amount of evidence their god is real as the Jews and Christians do.
4/2/2010 8:22:09 AM
"Allah" isn't the Muslim god's name - it's just the Arabic word for "God". Muslims worship the God of the Old Testament, the same as Christians and Jews. Arabic-speaking Christians call God "Allah", too. Jesus, who spoke Aramaic, called God "Elah". In Hebrew, it's "Eloh" (usually written as the plural, "Elohim"). Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew are all related languages, like Spanish (Dios), French (Dieu) and Italian (Dio).
4/2/2010 8:47:18 AM
What is the difference among a bunch of nonexistent hoaxes?
4/2/2010 8:52:21 AM
Can there be anything more ridiculous than people arguing over whether they're imagining the same things?
