It is what all sky, space related web sites are calling Jupiter and right now Earth is about 6 months away from passing Wormwood close up and the destruction it will cause inbound to the Sun is in Revelation Ch 8
and the outbound destruction is in Rev Ch 16

So much fail, one scarcely knows where to start.

Here goes: Jupiter's orbit does not come anywhere near that of any other planet, Earth included. The diameter of the entire planet is a mere 140,000km. It has at least 63 moons, and, finally, it is not a star by any definition, as no thermonuclear fusion activity occurs within it.

wow, utter astronomy fail. that IS jupiter. also, brown dwarf stars don't have a corona, as there is no fusion happening. brown dwarf stars aren't really stars, just gas giants that are almost large enough for gravity to force a fusion reaction.

If it's a brown dwarf, which is essentialy a failed star, then it hardly qualifies as a "great star". Moreover, On what evidence do you base your assumption that it's a brown dwarf? It was not described as such in the bible.

Brown Dwarfs do not have coronas. How do you know the number of "moons" orbiting it? You could not not possibly make those kind of observations with the naked eye or the most expensive, highest powered pair of binoculars in the world with out these "moons" being the size of mars at the very least.

Gee you'd think they would have noticed the difference between Jupiter and an object which is, at the very least, 10 Jupiter masses and likely 50 or more Jupiter masses, and would be significantly larger than Jupiter in size. And that doesn't even begin to factor in the massive gravitational disturbances that could not possibly go unnoticed, or be mistken for some other planet.

For it to be a mere 6 months away it would be much closer than the orbit on Jupiter, and moving through the solar system at a speed far, far greater than any observed orbiting body, so fast in fact that it's speed would be best measured in fractions of the speed of light. Nor could it maintain an orbit because it would exceed the sun's escape velocity. An last but certainly not least, for an object of that size and mass to be just 6 months away would not only be visible in the night sky, but also nearly the size of the moon in appearence.

The biblical Wormwood is said to destroy 2/3 if everything, a close pass by an object of 10 to 80 [i]jupiter masses would likely significantly alter the orbit and rotation of the ear, if not tear it out of orbit altogether. These scenarios will not leave your required 1/3rd but rather something on the 1/100th, if anyone survived at all.

Jupiter is in a stable orbit. It does not have a corona. Jupiter also has more than 3 dozen moons at last count--Highwic should have learned by now that binoculars have a definite limit, and that this is why serious sky-watchers generally invest in telescopes, which can be made more powerful as you don't have to hold them above your face to use them.

EDIT: 63?! I knew Jupiter played a major role in preventing space debris from reaching the inner planets, but that's even more than I expected.

Stars don't have moons. They have planets but not moons, which orbit the planet.

One, if such a star really was that close, we'd know it.
Two, I assume your talking about Rev. 8:11:
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

You are aware that means that it would have to be a astroid or something else which could taint our water supply instead of a star passing by (which would likely kill everyone instead of "many.")
