A Texas version of San Francisco? Let's see ... what's that saying? "Everything's bigger in Texas!"
And again with the "radical homosexual agenda" (what, voting?) being – wait for it – "shoved down the throat" of all guaranteed non-closeted Christians. These people are so transparent it's funny.

Apparently, Texas isn't as fundie as you thought. And by the way, the people spoke on who they wanted as a Mayor. Get over it.

Yeah, you're right, y'all texan conservative nutjobs should boycott Houston so that the atheist socialist homosexual feminist deceitful liberal Satan-worshipping abortionist activists can claim the city as their unholy haven of debauchery for good.

George Carlin: Who has less abortions than homosexuals?
In seriousness how are you threatened by homosexuals?

If you're tired of fundies trying to shove their agenda down your throat, continue voting based on the candidate's platform rather than their religion/sexual orientation.

[the radical homosexual agenda being shoved down the throat of normal society]
The citizens of Houston legally elected a mayor who just happens to be gay.
YOU are seeking to punish them for it.
Who, exactly, is being coercive here, David?
[Don’t mess with Texas or Texas children.]
The only person "messing with Texas" here is you. YOU are the one screaming for "economic sanctions". YOU are the one trying to short-circuit the democratic process.
If you hate America so much, David, why don't you just leave?

"Houston has elected an openly homosexual mayor and built the largest abortion clinic in the United States and you can do something about it!"
Well I was thinking I might visit this fair city and see what it was like sometime but...
"This is why we are calling on Christians everywhere to boycott the city of Houston."
...now that I know it's going to be completely fundie free for the foreseeable future, I may just move there.

Perhaps we should be encouraging this. Stoke up all the bible-thumpers to leave their jobs and houses in Houston, sell-up and go elsewhere in Texas, while simultaneously exhorting atheists to take up these vacated jobs and properties and make Houston the atheist capital of the US, square down in "lone star". Show the rest of Texas the metaphorical finger.

My but aren't you a drama queen. A democratically elected mayor of Houston happens to be gay and now the sky is falling?
By the way, you are aware that a big part of the Planned Parenthood mandate is to assist with birth control? Proper birth control removes the need for abortion but I suppose you're the type of fundie retards who considers birth control as tampering with god's will.
Speaking of god's will, he's being mighty quiet about the whole thing, isn't he? Almost like he doesn't really give a shit.

I love the irony in this.
Prop 8 passed and people who opposed it were told by its supporters, "the people have spoken, now just be quiet and accept it."
Houston legitimately elects a gay person as mayor, and the minority voters are up in arms and whining about the results, expecting everyone else to capitulate to them.

Maybe (not all of) Texas is as bad as I thought. And the people of Houston spoke when they voted her in with a majority.

Yeah, just don't hold your breath waiting for Houston to become empty and desolate.
I think it's funny how these Christians whine about being persecuted and then think they're in such a majority that they can threaten boycotts to get their way.
How much you want to bet that there are a lot of fundies in Houston who will still do business in Houston?

At the rate the fundies are making everything into a religion, I'm surprised you haven't yet found Abortionism, the religion of abortion.
Or maybe someone could post a link to someone who has?
Oh, and JohnTheAtheist wins the internets.

If this boycott was solely about abortion, I could kind of see where they're coming from, even if I don't agree with them, but the fact that they're targeting the mayor because he's gay proves that they're nothing more than bigoted morons.
