Quote# 69274

Homosexuality IS a choice. Having homosexual sex is a choice AND I firmly believe even the "attraction" that they claim to have for the same sex is also a choice. God did not create anyone to be a homosexual. He made everyone heterosexual, which means everyone has heterosexual feelings and attractions. All men are naturally attracted to women, and all women are naturally attracted to men. Even those who cliam to be gay or lesbian. I believe those who choose to be with someone of the same gender do so because they have "issues" of some sort -- I would bet nearly all of them were abused or, if not that, then they have serious rebellion issues and want to be "different." Nothing else could make someone want to turn their backs on their natural attractions and go after a relationship that is completely unnatural.

Years ago it was against the law to be a homosexual. Homosexuality was seen for what it really is -- a danger to society. No, I do not advocate imprisoning or harming homosexuals in any way. But I do think we need to push back hard against the gay agenda. How did it get to the point that in today's world, we are arguing over gay MARRIAGE? HOW did it get to that point? The culture of acceptance and tolerance has gone to far. Instaed of embracing this sin and telling them its okay, we need to reach out to homosexuals and urge them to repent and change their ways before it is too late.

On what basis do you say it's a choice? Please back that up with research. On what basis do you believe that those who choose to be homosexual have issues? Please back that up with research too.

And what danger to society are homosexuals? Please tell us that.

Nothing else? How about the fact that they're NOT ATTRACTED TO THE OPPOSITE SEX? What gives you the right to assume you know what these people think and feel? How arrogant of you to play god and assume you know everything.

The laws and attitudes changed because we realized how bigoted and cruel it was to prevent people from being with the person they love. You're no different than the people who fought against civil rights and woman's suffrage. You disgust me.

Homosexuality has no effect on anyone. I've lived next door to a gay couple for years. I could care less about their sexual orientation. They go to work, mow their lawn, paint their fence, walk their dog, wash their cars and do everything everyone else in the neighborhood does. What they do in their bedroom is none of my concern, just as what my wife and I do in our bedroom is none of theirs. If you don't like seeing two guys together or it embarrasses you or interferes with your "right" to raise your kids to be homophobic little pricks, that's your screwed up problem; not theirs.

Gays don't choose to be attracted to the same sex any more than you choose to be attracted to the opposite sex - if indeed you actually are attracted to the opposite sex, unlike the typical fundie who finds sex with anyone icky and disgusting.

Gender determination is not God's creation. If you turned out straight, then God got it right. But there's a whole complicated cascade of hormones, genes, gene suppressors and gene initiators, any one of which can - and often does - go wrong during fetal development. If God is involved, He's an incompetent moron, because He screws up pretty often (yeah, I know, Adam's transgressions caused our DNA to deteriorate ...).

Christianity IS a choice. Going to a Christian church is a choice AND I firmly believe even the "belief" that they claim to have for their god is also a choice. The Gods did not create anyone to be a Christian. They made everyone polytheist, which means everyone has had a desire to worship the True Pantheon and whatever gods we feel like adding to it. All people naturally believe in multiple gods. Even those who cliam to be Christian. I believe those who choose to be with Christianity do so because they have "issues" of some sort -- I would bet nearly all of them were abused or, if not that, then they have serious rebellion issues and want to be "different." Nothing else could make someone want to turn their backs on their natural beliefs and go after a religion that is completely unnatural.

Millennia ago it was against the law to be a Christian. Christianity was seen for what it really is -- a danger to society. No, I do not advocate imprisoning or harming Christians in any way. But I do think we need to push back hard against the Christian agenda. How did it get to the point that in today's world, we are arguing over letting Christian churches have the last word on MARRIAGE? HOW did it get to that point? The culture of acceptance and tolerance has gone to far. Instaed of embracing this sin and telling them its okay, we need to reach out to Christians and urge them to repent and change their ways before it is too late.

Fixed.

Yeah, because people fucking CHOOSE to be rejected, marginalized and discriminated against.... oh, wait, Christians actually DO choose that, and go out of their way to make sure we all know it!

Having any sort of enjoyable sex is the 'choice' that fundies disapprove of. Their best choice is to torture their libidos for Jesus, and then vomit their thwarted, frustrated, shameful, repressed, self-righteous guilt upon biologically healthier folks.

It's not teh Ghey that bothers them, it's the fact that other people can enjoy sex without guilt or shame.

So, baileysmom, tell us how it was, conceiving Bailey, okay?

EDIT: Dr Whom, I like that polytheist approach.

OK then, baileysmom, spend just one day of your life as a lesbian. Really. Go find other women attractive.

Or, y'know, you could STFU and DIAF.

""Nothing else could make someone want to turn their backs on their natural attractions and go after a relationship that is completely unnatural.""

Well, aside from a lifetime of being browbeaten and told that your attraction is unnatural and abnormal, thus causing you to suppress your very natural and very normal attraction to someone. So, many thanks to you and your ilk for that. I was so petrified of being gay, I didn't figure out I was very, very bisexual until after I was married.

Thank fuck I married someone who is very open-minded about these things (you know, being so willing to allow another woman to join us in bed from time to time...such a giver, my husband).

Some lesbians used to live down the street from me. They gave a nice Rolex, but that wasn't what I meant when I said I wanna watch.

But seriously, they where just like anyone else in the street, it's not really a big deal.

You ever try to, you know, talk to a homosexual person?

Again, why would anyone CHOOSE to be regularly discriminated against, sometimes violently?

Wish I could say this is blatantly a Poe, but I've run in to people who really do think this way.

baileysmom has to be a closet lesbian, otherwise she wouldn't be so worked up about what the gays do.

Go ahead and try to choose to be homosexual. We'll wait, it shouldn't take too long, right? It's a choice after all. No copping out and saying it's a sin. Jesus will forgive you anyway since this is strictly an experiment.

I can so easily see this post/argument being used against the civil rights movement.
