Teaching our young people that we evolved from monkeys is hindering the religion of Christianity
No, it isn't. First, no one is taught that humanity "evolved from monkeys", nor is such claimed in evolutionary theory, that is is either an outright lie or selective and willful ignorance of the facts on your part.
Second, It is not a hinderence to christianity as a whole because it is a view already held by the majority of christians, and the teaching of evolutionary theory contains no denunciations of any religion, nor does it in any way prevent someone from praticing the religion of their choice.
It’s causing them to doubt their faith
There is no constitutional protecting guranteeing people that they are protected from ever being exposed to something that may or may not make them doubt their faith. Being exposed to something that makes someone doubt their faith is not and does not, in any way, prevent them from practicing their religion of choice.
and it needs to be eliminated.
Why? What gives you the right to dictate what people can or cannot be exposed too? You DO NOT have the right to not be offended, nor do you have the right to expect society to cave to your every whim for fear that you may be offended.
For the entire scientific and educational sectors of society to restructure themselves to suit the whims of a religious view would itself be a violation of the establishment clause of the 1st Ammendmentby by favoring one religious view over others. Why should creationists be protected from ever having to be exposed to evolution but not have observent jews be protected from ever having to be exposed to any non kosher foods?
The first amendment goes against the teaching of evolution
Once again, the 1st Ammendment says nothing about being protected from things that make one doubt their religion.
It is a hindrance to religious activity.
How? The Establishment Clause of the 1st Ammendment prohibits the government from preventing you to worship the religion of your choice by force or by law. Teaching evolution in public schools in no way prevents anyone from practicing their religion in any way whatsoever.
Evolution is just a religion.
You can claim that over and over until you lose your voice but that will not make it true. People do't "believe" in evolution, they either accept the evidence for the theory or they don't.
There is no "church" of evolitionary theory, nor is there clergy, scripture, or any other hallmark of religious belief, and claiming otherwise is just another in a long string of failed attempts to have religious views enforced on everyone. Evolutionary theory, as it is taught in public schools, is a scientific discipline. Students are not told or forced to "believe" in evolution and are free to accept or reject it as they choose.
