Marriage is a civil contract. Remember, whether you marry in a church or not, you still need a license from the government.

That's a rather large pail of fail there, WarGamer.

Try this little experiment. Go to a minister, preacher, or other religious leader and asked to be married.

Next, go to a Justice of the Peace and ask to be married.

In both cases there is a document they will ask to see before a wedding ceremony can be performed and that is a license from the state. Until the state sanctions the proceedings you aren't going to be married and you don't need "God's permission"in any case.

Seems to me the only thing that matters to you is that god sanctify intercourse and, in your eyes, marriage is defined. What a sorry life you must lead but then, seeing as how you're on RR, that's a given.

Which God? Just because your homophobic tyrant asshole doesn't like gays doesn't mean everyone's Gods are like that.

Consider the deities of Pagans ancient and modern. Many of those deities condone [or at least participate in] gay relationships or demonstrate transgender/transsexual traits. For example, Loki, Asunshunamir, Astarte, Pan, Horus, and many others.

In addition, ancient mythology has many examples of gender benders and virgin goddesses, possibly implying asexuality. But fundies just bitch about gays; they don't seem to even recognize the existance of asexual people. [Maybe that's a good thing.]

Wrong. As long as there is one set of genitals, you can have sex. There is oral, anal, mutual masturbation, etc. There is plenty of sexual contact that two people can have without it being penile-vagnal intercourse. Why do you care what two consenting people do in the bedroom?

It's a bloody civil contract. You need a license to become married. When the fiancee and I in July get married we will need to have the license ready for the person conducting the ceremony to sign in order for us to become married. The ceremony is just an extra, an expensive one at that.

Why? because it doesn't fit the narrow definitions you create specifically to exclude homosexuals? Marriage as it exists in the US is a civil institution, not a religious one. The very fact that you never see christians out protesting Muslim, Hindu, or even Atheist marriages is proff positive that all your protest are hollow, insincere, and targeted at one specific segment of the population with the sole intent of disenfranchising them.

Don't exactly keep up on current events, do ya? Over here in the UK, it's not just vicars, priests etc who can perform marriages, but Council-appointed officials at municipal registry offices which perform secular marriages. All the ceremony, and legal recognition, no religion involved.

They also do Civil Partnership ceremonies too, for gay & lesbian couples. With the same legal recognition, and entitlements/responsibilities as heterosexual marriages.

If your 'God' disapproves of gay sex, then why did he design male genitalia, and especially the male rectal area - including placing the prostate gland there - in the way it is?

Hmmmm... funny thing is... I didnt see anything in this entire post that quotes from the bible about WOMEN... BEING WITH OTHER WOMEN... being a sin and wrong according to God.... and im sure if you all read the entire Leviticus chapters on sexual acts according to God... you wont find that in there either... wanna know why? Apparently because the NUMBER ONE FANTASY of all straight males (including "HOLY CHRISTIANS") is the thought and act of women being with women and also witnessing a woman fuck or kiss or touch another woman... because its a HUGE turn on and straight men (most normal ones) condone it 100% for the sake of their own lusts and fulfillment. Thus... you have all provided us LESBIANS and BISEXUAL FEMALES ... a loophole before the eyes of God to committ all the sexual acts and encounters we want with other women like us. 'Sin' is defined in any dictionary as committing crimes against divine law. Or contravening the moral standards of a deity(ies). But since we Atheists don't acknowledge the existence of a 'God', therefore we can't be sinners.

We Atheists certainly have higher moral standards than your 'God'. Just read the Old Testament for proof. Therefore we Atheists are superior to God.
