Very offended by the recent advertisement. How dare they suggest we celebrate what we want? This is a Christian nation.

Yeah, how dare they suggest you have free will, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and all those ebil commie blasphemies?
BAAAWWWWW! I don' WANNA do what I wanna do - I wanna HAFTA do it, whether I like it or not. An' I ain't gonna have any "happy" holidays, or greet any so-called "seasons" neither. I'm gonna be MERRY like we're all s'posed ta, and that's ALL I'm gonna be. I'll show you . Baawwww, haaa haaa haaaaww *sniffle*
Just had a look on YouTube for the Gap ad... and wow, it's about the most inoffensive thing I've ever seen.
Seriously, grow some skin.
(Yeah, that comment is incredibly Poe-like, but the whole page is one giant whinefest)
Yeah, how dare anyone in this country do anything I don't like.
Anyone else find it hilarious that these Christians think they have to go out and rate every store they shop at by how Christmas-y it is? And if it's not Christmas-y enough to suit them they get all irate about it.
Yes! How dare we become a nation of secular principles with freedom of religion, speech, and the press for all, instead of a free theocracy where everyone is forced to convert or die!
I know this has been identified as a Poe, but I don't care 'cuase I wanna comment...
Very offended by the recent advertisement.
Yeah, well, we don't have the right to a sanatized world according to our beliefs. Grow a thicker skin and learn to look away if something offends you. Sheesh.
How dare they suggest we celebrate what we want?
They are not suggesting it; the 1st Ammendment allows this freedom to worship as we please. So sorry for you if it's not Christianity.
This is a Christian nation.
Yet the 1st Ammendment clearly prohibits us from legally declaring the USA to be as such. Further, the 6th Article of the US Constitution allows any faith for public office. Finally, the US Constitution allows us to violate every one of the Ten Commandments. If we're truly a "Christian nation" then how could our Founding Fathers leave such blatantly secular mechanisms in our basis for law?
"This is a Christian nation."
Like His4Life in previous threads, Anonymous must be a glutton for punishment. All together now. 1...2...3...:
Treaty of Tripoli, bitches!
This whole website is hilarious, not to mention the fact that the people who comment actually concern themselves with whether or not a company uses the phrase "Merry Christmas" or has Christmas decorations. This so-called "sacred" holiday of yours isn't that difficult, people: You buy a bunch of shit that you can't afford, you take said shit home to your ungrateful family, and then you return the shit back to the store you bought it from on the 26th.
How dare they suggest we celebrate what we want?
Could be wrong, but this sounds like sarcasm to me...
No, it's a nation of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. That means, for the last fucking time, that anyone can practice any religion they want on American soil without discrimination, censorship, or favoritism. Your beloved Jeebus and Christianity are never mentioned once in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence either. Fuck off.
I'd call poe, but this seems to be true judging by the massive amount of "offended" Christians who claim christmas wasn't even mentioned in the commercial(which, it was first, so why the hell are their panties in a bunch? Solstice was last, should I throw a hissy fit because of that?). I'm not even sure why they are angry since Christmas really isn't their holiday at all, regardless of their claims. History lesson needed for these folks.
Well, I'd be pretty pissed off too if I couldn't force everyone else to celebrate the birthday of my imaginary friend. Except, well, being a 25 year old woman who uses her brain, I don't have imaginary friends.
I will, as I have done every year since realizing that supernaturalism is false, god doesn't exist, etc, celebrate the day by opening presents, eating everything in sight, spending time with those that I love, playing street hockey (which has become a tradition in my family), and revelling in the fact that jesus is a figment of your imagination and that the delusions of ancient people are not valid.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)
Celebrating what you want means freedom to celebrate Christian holidays, doorknob.
"How dare they propose we exercise our beliefs as outlined in our Constitution that nowhere mentions Christianity?"
I've seen wet bags of sand more intelligent than you.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
