There's a difference between the general 'opposable thumb' of the other apes and the prehensile thumb of humans.
Put your fingers straight and together, then bend them towards your palm until they make one half of a cylinder. Now keep your fingers still and touch the tip of each with your thumb.
If I explained that clearly enough, you should have managed that with little difficulty, but that is something no modern ape or monkey can do.
