But if nothing happens without God's approval, then God's punishing them for something he allowed. What a dick.

I love how people can just assume they know what God is thinking. It's almost as if they think God punishes people for things they don't like...

I'm sorry you don't get any Vallandingham, neither do I, but it don't mean I get to delude myself and think I am virtuous for this.

Funny I thought murder was a sin. Oh, well. Apparently a couple simply living together is horrible.
Damn it feels good to be an atheist.

God is punishing them for cohabitating before marriage
Is there even a biblical prohibition against the co-habitation of unmarried individuals? I do not recall there being one, but when it comes to the bible, and most other religious "holy books" for that matter, it's all in the interpretation.
Why would your "god" single out this couple to smite for premarital co-habitation, and on the eve of their wedding day nonetheless, while turning a blind eye to the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of christian couple who co-habitate outside of wedlock?
Are you also claiming that your "god" usurped this man's free will to have him and his bride to be in such a fashion as to leave her dead and the responsibility for her death to when on her would-be husband for the rest of his life? Is this an example of your omnibenevolent and loving "god"?
haec credam a deo pio? A deo justo? A deo scito?
(Am I to believe these things from a righteous god? A just god, A wise god?)
If your "god" was a loving god then how could he allow such tragedy. If your "god" were a just god, then why would he single out one couple for punishment but leave all the other couples that are guilty of the very same infraction totally umolested? If your "god" were a benevolent god, then why end the girl's life in such a senseless and cruel manner when a simple vision or revelation combined with prayer of forgivness? If your "god" truly wishes for each and every person then why would he allow, or cause this woman to die in a state of sin and thus guarantee she would suffer an eternity in hell? If your "god" were to actually exist he wound most certainly be malevolent and cruel.

Nasty miserable old git, probably can't get his legally married cohabiting wife to have sex with him anymore!

And why didn't he do it directly?. I wonder how he would interpret it if they were actually married.

And that's why I switched religions. Buddha's totally cool with cohabitation.
Unlike cowards who hide in the dark with loaded guns.

Oh dear!
*shock horror*
Me and my girlfriend have been cohabitating for the past five years, and were now pregnant(!) ... with twins no less! We're also atheists!
*shock horror*
When are we going to be smitt ... hm ... smited? Smoten? Smitten? ... for our utterly horrible transgressions?
Also; what a horrible waste of organic material you are Vallandingham!

I know many people that cohabited before marriage and went of to enjoy long happy marriages (more than a few of them are atheists, too). What makes your god so damned irrationally selective? Or could it possibly be just bad judgement, bad luck and irresponsible gun-ownership?

And why didn´t he prevent them from living together in the first place?. Besides, if he thought that she was an intruder, most probably THEY WEREN´T LIVING TOGETHER.

Just think about it. If he thought that she was an intruder, most probably they were not cohabitating, don´t you think?
