CTSTDT if anything, and even then not that convincingly.

As a cancer survivor myself(6 months in remission) I can tell you that is NOT how cancer works.

So chemo and radiation are simply to help cancer patients get in the mood to overcome their cancer?

You're an idiot. Smoking has been shown to have a very strong link with the occurrence of certain cancers, and it can safely be said to be causal. And if people not wanting to have cancer was a factor in curing cancer we'd have a lot fewer deaths from cancer.
Jeez. Some people will do anything to put responsibility on anyone besides themselves.

while the first paragraph is a pretty lame way to try and fail to dodge the obvious, second paragraph is pretty much true.
...and what the hell is this doing here in the first place.

There are quite a number of other problems involving carcinogens that are a bit trickier to just ignore.

And you know what? If you wanna smoke tar, carbon monoxide, and a litany of other toxins, (And yes, cigarettes are packed with toxins and poisons. Read the labels.) go crazy. However, even if you don't believe that smoking causes cancer, if not in you, in others, how about the fact that it does trigger asthma attacks? Completely ignoring th fact that some of us do not like smelling like an ashtray as well?
Oh, and while the placebo effect may have some bearing on disease, it's not as effective when a cell itself goes maverick, and rebels against your very own body.

Unless you work for a tobacco company (which makes you a dick), you're pretty much an idiot, cancer doesn't work that way. carcinogen LITERALLY means "creator of cancer" and while it may not be a 100% cancer chance (depends on the agent and the subject exposed), the risk is still pretty high.
EDIT: yay, we're finding new kinds of fundie today!

Yes, smoking does cause cancer. It doesn't always cause cancer in every case (some smokers are lucky), nor is every case of lung cancer caused by smoking, but in many, many cases the cancer is a direct result of smoking.
If you want to smoke, fine - I'm not a health fascist - but don't try to kid yourself or others about the dangers, nor assume that you can stop yourself getting cancer by sheer willpower (that's totally absurd).

As a libertarian, I apologise we have idiots like this fuckhead. Medicine helps. The mind can control certain things in the body but medicine would be the cure. And smoking causes cancer.

Hence smoking does NOT "cause" cancer. Smoking only makes it ten times more likely that you may get it.
There. Fixed.

Impact with a speeding truck doesn't "cause" broken bones. It only makes broken bones more likely. Hence traffic accidents do NOT "cause" fatal injuries.

Here drink this poison. It won't kill you. It is only an agent that will make your death hugely more likely. There is a difference, right?
