We lost America when all religions became equivalent to Christianity and the bible
In other words, You "lost" America at the very moment of it's founding. So I have to ask, when did you ever "have" it in the first place?
When America was thought of as a Christian nation
The only time america was thought of as a "christian nation" is a moment of time that exists solely in your imagination.
no one disputed bibles in the classrooms, the courts, and anywhere else they were.
There was a time when no one disputed that it was ok to own other human beings as slaves, did that make it a good thing? No it didn't. There has never been a time in the history of the US that it was strictly legal to enforce mandatory prayer in schools, mandatory bible lessons, and a host of other crossing of the boundries between religion and the state. Just because it happened and it was overlooked at one time does not mean that it was ok then or that it's ok now.
As a non-believer I do not think that your religion should be taught as fact to children in schools, I do not think that that any children, who are non-christian by their own choice or otherwise should be forced to say a christian prayer in school, I do not think that a non believer should be judged in a courtroom by religious laws that are neither his own, nor the laws that the court has been embodied to enforce.
Your religion does not, nor was it ever intended to, have the force of law behind it. That America was founded as a christian nation was roundly refuted in the Treaty of Tripoli in 1799, at time in which many of the founders were still active and serving in the government. Had their intention been to form a "christian nation" then why wasn't there outrage when the treaty was written & signed? Why was it ratified and made law by the senate? It certainly wasn't a modern day plot by the "godless liberals" as so very, very many of you "christian nation" proponents claim.
Maybe the Constitution should have stated that America was a Christian country and no other religion can be equal to it
But it doesn't. And the writings of so many of the founding father's writings from that time confirm that it was never the intention to have christian religious supremacy.
That others had a right to practice what religion that they wanted to, but it was not to usurp the Christian teachings and the bible.
But that was never the intention, as even half hearted reserch can reveal. America was created as, and was always intended to be a secular nation. In part to avoid the religious conflicts that had torn through europe since the fall of Rome.
George Bush had bible quotes put on the front of his briefings from Iraq
No, Donald Rumsfeld had them put on there not Bush.
and now some Muslim said he is offended by those bible quotes and they must be removed.
No one, muslim or not, is saying that they should be removed. Those are old intellegince breifings and removing them would be meaningless. The point is that it should have never been done in the first place because it reflects poorly on the US and make the invasion of Iraq look like a holy war against Islam, an outcome which can only lead to more needless american and iraqi deaths.
In the future would you at least bother to get your information straight before you go laying blame at the feet of people who are not even involved in the issue, especially if that is being included only as a means to make another group look as if they are trying to "opress" you, when that is most certainly not the case. If you as devout christian as you put yourself out to be then at least try to remember your 9th commandment.
The devil worshippers come from their devil countries
And I'm sure that they say the same about you. That's a perfect example as to why America was formed as a secular, non-religious nation, to avoid just the kind of stereotyping you are engaging in.
and then tell us they don't want to be offended by our religion in our country
It's not your country, it does not "belong" to christians, America belongs to it's citizens, no matter what religion, creed, or philosophy they adhere too.
It's never been a matter on offense, no one has the right not to be offended, but they do have the right not to have someone else's religion imposed on them or their children with the full force of US law behind it. That's what Freedom of Religion means, it means that every citizen must have the right to practice the religion of their choice without impediment from outside actors.
Freedom to choose one's own religion requires the state to remain neutral on the subject of religion lest the citizenry feel that they are compelled to choose the religion of the state in order to conform or to escape possible reprisal from actors on behalf of the state religion. You cannot have true freedom of religion without freedom from religion. The fact that you cannot understand that speaks poorly of your understanding of what american values truly are.
And, heaven forbid that one of THEM should be offended.
I'm sorry, since when did "THEY" become people undeserving of the same rights and freedoms that you would claim for yourself? American citizenship doesn't come with a religious requirement. If it did then it would no longer the America that was once envied across the world, It would no longer be the "land of the free" but instead a pale shadow of that which it once stood for
