Quote# 61876

I imagine a scenario where we learn that those who weren't saved weren't "real". What I mean is that I view the world as a kind of tester/simulator. The elect are put into the simulator to develop and test their souls. Those around us that are not saved are part of the simulation. They seem real to us, but in the end they turn out not to be.

Nothing in scripture supports this, but this is how I took the verses about the potter creating vessels for ignoble purposes and some for noble purposes.

You're absolutely correct. You are in the Matrix right now, and all the nonbelievers are Mr. Smith.

There's dumb
Then there's dumber
Then there's dumberer
Then there is this guy.

Hmmmm, I've heard this somewhere before? Where, oh where?

Oh, yeah, "The Matrix." Which was make-believe just like your religion.

Somewhere, there's a fundie fapping to this.

Nothing in scripture supports this,

Then repent of the sin of adding to Scripture.

but this is how I took the verses about the potter creating vessels for ignoble purposes and some for noble purposes.

As is so often the case in your religion, you creatively reinterpreted a Bible passage because the plain meaning (in this case, that your magic sky pixie creates people to damn them and thus to cheer up the elect) is too offensive for even you to accept.

They seem real to us, but in the end they turn out not to be.

How do you know that you are not one of the simulators and that the devil is misleading you to think you are saved when in fact you are heading straight for the furnaces of hell?

What a disturbed way of looking at the world. People who doens't share my religious views are not real.

Then why do you try to "save" us?

Freaking arrogant. You're the only real people. Yeah right.

Your premise is unworkable. Unless it were impossible for the elect to fail to be saved, which would make the entire simulation pointless, at least some of the unsaved must be real and damned to hell, and you should feel bad about that; I assume you've constructed this crude fantasy so as not to have to feel bad about being saved by someone who also condemns people to eternal torment.

I imagine a scenario where Satan creates fake religions so people can be turned into hateful fundies and sent to hell when they die. Nothing in reality supports this, but this is how I took the blitherings of fundies.

"I imagine a scenario where we learn that those who weren't saved weren't 'real'."

That sounds good, so, with no evidence whatsoever, I'm going to imagine a scenario in which all you Rapture Retards aren't real.

"What I mean is that I view the world as a kind of tester/simulator."

Aren't you folks supposedly big on a literal reading of the Bible? Nothing about the earth being a "tester/simulator" in the Bible, twinkie.

"The elect are put into the simulator to develop and test their souls."

By an omniscient deity who already knows the heart of every man?

"Those around us that are not saved are part of the simulation."

What of those elect who do not develop properly or who do not pass there "soul" tests?

"They seem real to us, but in the end they turn out not to be."

I am not one of those deluded into thinking that I am one of the "elect," however, I seem very real. No, really, all my friends agree that I AM real.

"Nothing in scripture supports this,"

That much is certain.

"but this is how I took the verses about the potter creating vessels for ignoble purposes and some for noble purposes."

Yes, but you haven't taken into consideration that you are a deluded bonehead.

The most scary part about this is the implicit dehumanisation. Anyone who is not among the saved in this guy's eyes is possibly not human, and therefore okay to victimise.

I just hope if it does come to that, that victimise means "Be an arsehole to' and not 'Take a shotgun to'.

Also the 'Testing' bit is silly because no 'real' people can fail, but the 'develop' bit is at least self consistent.

@El Zorro

It horrifies me because if the wrong kind of person latches onto this mentality, suddenly, there's a body count, rationalized by "They were unbelievers. They aren't real."

Yeah, there was a character in a Vonnegut book who thought it was OK to abuse and kill anyone he wanted because he thought he was the only "real" person and everyone else was just robots put there by god as some sort of game.
