Oh no, not this old schtick again! First it was jazz music, then blues, then rock, then disco. Most music does not concern itself with the Lord at all, the themes are mostly secular; love is the dominant one (which it has been since the dawn of man, I guess). Since the church is still here and going strong, guess music has no real impact on Christianity.

And people should believe that why? Because you say so? I highly doubt that (outside of certain metal subcultures) any music makes people want to denigrate your "god" or desecrate your churches.

And the only blasphemy Switchfoot has ever committed is against good taste in metal. Even so, it's still nowhere near as painful as some of the posts on those threads; watching them try to string together academically sound ideas is reminiscent of the fevered ramblings of plague victims.
Seriously, flick through some of those threads and watch them pat themselves on the back and chant "huh huh, we so clever". And they're yet unable to figure out even the simplest concepts of reality, like 'people have been saying that about popular music since the 20s'.
