Quote# 61443

[This is a pagan forum but texasdave is a Christian. He is explaining why Christianity is the true religion.]

The word " Lai" does mean come to Christ. The prophecies of Christ go back to the beginning of time itself. Before 220 BC. God probably orchestrated the Chinese language to facillitate the Gospel for this time now. You know, 3000 Chinese are coming to Christ every day through the underground church. It is wonderful and that word is helping. Praise God.

I thought the church was claiming time started back in 600 B.C.

The prophecies of Christ go back to the beginning of time itself.
Hmm. What time was it when time began?

God probably orchestrated the Chinese language to facillitate the Gospel for this time now
Probably? You think someone else might have done it?

You know, 3000 Chinese are coming to Christ every day through the underground church
I thought Christ was supposed to come to them, and quickly?

You know Confucius lived 551 -479 BC. Did God have to wait for Confucius to die before he could speak about the Gospels that hadn't even been written yet.

Sounds like a whimpy God.

No, 'lai' means 'come here'. They use it to speak to dogs, small children and jaywalking foreigners. I should know, being one the latter. ^^

I love how with Christians, everything has to be about them and their religion. Fuck other cultures.

"The prophecies of Christ go back to the beginning of time itself. Before 220 BC."

um.. nevermind that, according to the usual fundy claims, "the beginning of time" is around 6000 B.C...

"The prophecies of Christ" go back before Christ was born? o_O'

Chronological fail.

Why do we even need Christian missionaries anyway.

I mean, I'm sure most people have heard of Jesus by now, haven't they?

-The word " Lai" does mean come to Christ.
Words do not mean what you want it to mean; be it Chinese, English, or whatever language. Languages of the world are not centered on Christianity.
Don't be an idiot.
-The prophecies of Christ go back to the beginning of time itself. Before 220 BC.
There is no Christianity at the beginning of time.
Don't be an idiot.
-God probably orchestrated the Chinese language to facillitate the Gospel for this time now.
No, he did not. The Chinese should stay with the teachings of Buddhism, Confucius, and Lao Tzu instead; which are all much better than the plague of Christianity.
-You know, 3000 Chinese are coming to Christ every day through the underground church.
You might want to compare that to the number of Chinese babies being born every day first.
-It is wonderful and that word is helping.
No. Lai, meaning come, is just a regular word you encounter very often in Chinese.

Stupid.

I am *nearly* fluent in Chinese. I assure you that lai ? means simply "to come", as in to come to someplace (not the sexual meaning!). There's nothing about christ in it.

@Dark_Lord_Prime:
That would be 4004 B.C. (around 6000 years *ago*), but fail is still strong with texasdave.

texasdave claims these so called 'prophecies' include the Ten Commandments, the first five are 'vertical' and the last five are 'horizontal' so they make a cross apparantly.

And yes, he is banned later on the same thread for personal attacks. He also is incredibly arrogant, by assuming that all the pagans there follow Christianity secretly but they don't know it.
