And this is why only a few years ago my (yankee even) state had an outbreak of... wait for it... the measles because a church community had these crazy ideas.
I don't wonder so much about MMR and such, but what about tetanus/lockjaw? I mean, as a kid you are in situations everyday where you could be exposed to that...
EDIT - Wait, what? A chick from Germany is coming over to the US with her kids having had NO shots at all and says this in the thread:

Idiot! The reason your children have never caught vaccinable diseases is because practically everyone else around them will have been vaccinated! Thanks to the herd immunity effect, anti-vaccers benefit almost as much from mass vaccination programmes as the people who actually take part in them - just without shouldering their fair share of the risk of side effects that everyone else accepts as the cost of net protection from a greater danger.
