I'd also like to think that marriage is more about love than the sexes of the partners involved. To believe otherwise cheapens the "institution" of marriage that you hold so highly--and much more so than allowing members of the same sex to get married.
To say I can marry a member of the opposite just like you is a spit in your own face. If I married a woman, it'd most likely be a loveless marriage. And I don't quite think those do much to improve or show the sanctity of marriage.

I argued this out with morons like this when they legalized same-sex marriage in Canada. All the arguments were of a religious nature which, in the end, had no place in the laws of a secular nation.
Since then all the fears of the religious right about the fall of society as we knew it have proven false. Go figure.
