The President has announced to the Congress his intentions to sign the UN declaration that calls for the decriminalization of homosexuality. The declaration that George W. Bush shunned has now been OK’d by all 27 member nations of the European Union.
Ignoring the moral sensibilities of over half of the American public Barack Obama has proven that the hallmarks of his presidency will be to further amorality, prurient interests and the gay agenda regardless of America’s Christian heritage or the basic sentiments of the population. He has hit the ground running on pro-abortion and gay agenda causes that are causing disgust all the way from little independent fundamental churches to the Vatican.
The Bible does hold that homosexuality is a crime against nature but Barack Obama has assured the doubtful that they needn’t take the Apostle Paul’s warning in the first chapter of the book of Romans too seriously because it is after all “obscure” according to Obama in the Christian Post Mar 04, 2008.

Why are fundies so afraid of homosexuality? It's okay to be gay people. You don't have to actively hunt it down in order to prove to yourself that you aren't gay. Take a little time to think about yourself, realize you are might be gay, and live with it.
[The Bible does hold that homosexuality is a crime against nature]
The bible also says that "Bastards"(Children whose parents never married each other) are a crime agianst nature too.
[... that they needn’t take the Apostle Paul’s warning in the first chapter of the book of Romans too seriously ...]
The Apostle Paul also warned women not to wear that which is pertaining to a man. But that dosen't stop christian women from wearing pants.
YAY!
I vote we make President Obama an honorary Fundie Hunter.
Now for no more DOMA, a federal nondiscrimination clause, marriage equality, and free event passes to Southern Decadence for everyone!
"Ignoring the moral sensibilities of over half of the American public..."
and this is why we live in a republic, not a true democracy: to reduce the oppression of minorities
Let's see... Treaty of Tripoli, claiming a bunch of fuckwits represent the full sentiment of the population, agendas, the bible being some sort of authority... Yep, this is some high-class crap here.
Until these people start raging against shellfish, clothing made of blended fibers, and any of the other nutty things the bible explicitly forbids (including christmas trees; Jeremiah 10:2), they really don't have a leg to stand on. Come on, Rev. Michael Bresciani, you can't pick and choose!
The philosophical distance between "little independent fundamental churches" and the Vatican is not as far as you think.
Welcome back to the United Nations, America. We missed you.
It's about time. It's not a crime to be born blue eyed, or left handed, so being born homosexual should also not be a crime.
A RELIGIOUS book, written by men who wanted to control everything, said homosexuality is a crime. Yeah, like that's a good thing to follow.
...regardless of America’s Christian heritage...
It always gets me how these folk completely ignore America's rich ...pagan? heritage whenever they make sweeping statements such as this. Oh wait, I'm an idiot -- of course indians don't count! They didn't have a flag .
Morons.
Oh, and the Vatican ? The Vatican is outraged when people living in countries that are overrun with HIV/AIDS and other preventable STDs want to use condoms.
Fuck you, and fuck your idiotic rationalizations for your personal hang-ups.
The Bible does hold that wearing mixed fabrics is a crime against nature.
The Bible does hold that eating shellfish is a crime against nature.
The Bible does hold that women wearing pantsuits is a crime against nature.
Anything else?
The bible does hold that sowing two different plants on the same field is crime against nature. It also holds that building irrigation channels is playing god, and that speaking to those who you cannot see you is witchcraft. Want to rethink that, Reverend?
Yay for Obama! I think of things that are a lot more frightening than homosexuality.
Starting with the fact that for those with an educated world-view, homosexuality isn't "frightening" at all.
You know, seeing as i'm Australian and all that, American politics had never interested me, up until George Bush started fucking everything up. I took a mild interest because he was good for lulz, but when i heard Obama was elected, i was so happy i almost cried.
Not only does it show that America has finally done the right thing in hiring an intelligent and grounded human being for president, but he pisses the fundies off sooooooo much!
Brilliant
Well done America! :D
The President has announced to the Congress his intentions to sign the UN declaration that calls for the decriminalization of homosexuality. The declaration that George W. "Puppet President" Bush used to pander to special interests has now been approved by all 27 member nations of the European Union.
Ignoring the moral cowardice of over half of the American public Barack Obama has proven that the hallmarks of his presidency will be to further outreach to oppressed minorities, regardless of America’s Christian televangelists or the basic sentiments of the sheeple. He has hit the ground running on pro-choice and LGBT rights causes that are causing disgust all the way from little homegrown churches of hate to humongous, wealthy churches of essentially equal hate, but with added closet pedophilia!
The Bible does hold that gay male sex is a crime against nature (everything else is cool though, even lesbian sex*) but Barack Obama has assured the doubtful that they needn’t take the Apostle Paul’s warning in the first chapter of the book of Romans too seriously because it is, after all “fabricated” according to a disgruntled FSTDT contributor.
Fixed, sorta.
*Especially lesbian sex
And little fundamental churches (like the nutty Phelps-Clan) and the Catholic Church (may I remind you of the 9 year old girl in Brazil who was excomunicated for having an life-saving abortion after being raped by her stepfather) are always right on such issues, right?
Oh, and most people in Europe think Obama rocks. I'm one of them.
Welcome back to the civilized world america - it's been a long 8 years and we missed you.
@stoat100
They don't move there because then THEY wouldn't be the ones making the rules and htus may have to actually follow some of the bigoted shit they preach.
Actually, I'm pretty sure more than half of the American public thinks Obama is teh awesome. America is a continent , not a country, after all.
You see, Michael, I happen to think there's more to America's heritage than hating people. And I don't think gay people need to be put to death or in jail for being gay, as is happening in Iran, Uganda, and Nigeria, among others. I'm so glad Barack Obama feels the same way. After all, I'm disgusted by you, but I'm not calling for people like you to be killed or jailed.
"The declaration that George W. Bush shunned has now been OK’d by all 27 member nations of the European Union."
So the US is in the Yoorupeen union?
"regardless of America’s Christian heritage"
The made up disneyesque one?
"all the way from little independent fundamental churches to the Vatican. "
Anything that annoys the vatican gets my vote..
The babbe says lots of stuff..most of which you ignore.
First, majority rules doesn't work when it comes to human rights.
Second, just because the majority believes something doesn't make it right.
"The Bible does hold that homosexuality is a crime against nature"
Shellfish and eating the flesh of swine are also "abominations."
That means fundies must stone any of their friends and relatives who ever dined at Red Lobster or had bacon for breakfast.
Oh, and divorcees also are to be stoned. And from what I've heard fundies have the HIGHEST divorce rates in America.
You guys might want to worry about that moat in your eyes before you get all indignant about teh gay.
Hey, Rev....deal with it. I voted on President Obama and I'm heterosexual. I applaud his decision with vigor. It's none of your business and does not have anything to do with your life. Leave those folks alone. They just want to be with somebody they love and cherish. I'll never understand why that is so difficult for you guys to comprehend. It's just so damn simple to grasp. Must be a control thing with you guys.
Michael Bresciani does not seem to realise that neither they European Union or the US are theocracies. Moreover, I believe that in all of the member states of the EU homosexuality is decriminalized as a condidtion of membership as a result of the Irish Government's loss of its case in the European Court in 1996.
As to the Vatican, what pity is does not disqualify former members of the Hitler Youth movement from all office.
Oh, but he was young, do you say? I am not sure that absolute morality allows that defence in Catholic thinking. There are times when one is required to pay the ultimate penalty for what is right. Benny obviously didn't think this so important. Instead he involved himself, and absolved himself in and of membership of an evil cult.
Now, Michael Bresciani, when you have resolved this contravention of morality apropos of your Pope, then start casting stones at others.
Why should we have laws against homosexuality and not the other 20 or so things that Paul condemned in the first chapter of the book of Romans - stuff like gossiping, backbiting, pride and boasting? If we base our laws on Romans, we should all be in jail.
"Obama Sets Stage for Future Persecution of Christianity
The President has announced to the Congress his intentions to sign the UN declaration that calls for the decriminalization of homosexuality. The declaration that George W. Bush shunned has now been OK’d by all 27 member nations of the European Union. "
So preventing 'Person 1' from persecuting 'Person 2' is persecution of 'Person 1' ?
Actually, that passage is difficult to interpret, as it isn't particularly clear whether homosexual acts are actuallly being condemned, whether it applies to genuine homosexuals, and what specific actions are being referred to.
Most passages that the fundies use to condemn homosexuality are difficult to interpret due to a combination of translation and contextual issues, except for one in Leviticus, where male-male homosexual acts are prohibited. However, this is in the same part of the Bible as the laws against eating pork and working on the Sabbath, which most fundies see as not applicable.
Besides this whole thing being a bunch of bullshit, this part particularly got to me:
Ignoring the moral sensibilities of over half of the American public
If this were true, then Obama would have never been voted in. Just because the xtian population of the US is about 74 %, doesn't mean that they are all ignorant fucktard fundies like you.
Errr.... yeah, and we're going to trust a REVEREND? Someone who lives, breathes, and shits out LYING FOR JESUS?
Nothx, I'll take Obama any day -- he actually USES his brain.
(And what, pray tell, is so "bad" about teh ghey? It's nature's way of controlling the population while providing extra support for the young.)
Newsflash Rev: Our country is based on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, NOT the bible.
"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion..."
(Article 11, Treaty of Tripoli)
Confused?
