Quote# 59568

Don't you guys just about wanna scream? I know I do. I totally get that nothing catches God by surprise, but it pains me like I can't even explain to go down with this sinking ship. I used to believe that the rapture would happen before America fell, but we are FALLING and now I am just so brokenhearted that we are still here to see it happening in such a ridiculous, insane, insidious way as a result of greed, pride and deception.

I see a lot of comments about how the collapse of America only means the rapture is very near but what if America collapses and we all succumb to horrible deaths and the rapture ISN'T very near?

I feel like a sitting duck.

Being raptured isn't the same as dying? Think about it!

Doug: "Think about it!"

If they did that, their brain cell would die of exhaustion.

And might MidnightCry be banned for suggesting that the Rapture isn't near?

Why do these fuckers think their god only gives a shit about America? Haven't countries been "falling" (which America is NOT, btw) for centuries?

I have this memory of this other place that kept talking about how the end was near. They had something about a rapture type thing as well. Lemme think... Oh right, now I remember!

How...would they "all succumb to horrible deaths"? By the falling of the U.S.? And by falling of the U.S., does she mean "be rounded up and sent into death camps for being a Christian," as some of these people seem to think? Because, even though we're in an ecomonic recession, we still have a functioning transportation system, a regular supply of food, etc. So I'm not sure how she thinks they're all going to die.

You know, you're more than welcome to get the hell out of this country. Isn't that what you told us for the last 8 years? You people are truly pathetic. You sit there and tell me that I'm immoral and lead a worthless existence, all while you hope for the end of the world and the deaths of the millions who don't follow your particular brand of delusion. Nothing says "worthless" more than an existence spent waiting for an event that is never going to happen.

He doubts that the rapture will happen any second? I wonder how long it takes him to get banned.

Jeezo - cheer up already you miserable git!

Have fun, enjoy life, be good and charitable and then IIIIIFFFFF the rapture ever happens you would have spent a worthwhile time waiting!
In the more likely event that you eventually die and that's it - no afterlife, then you won't have wasted the one you have.

I am however at a loss to figure how you will have any real fun or meaningful existence within the boundaries of your chosen religion. Seems to me your brand of xtianity spends your time either, wishing for the end, or hating folk who are enjoying themselves and experience life the way they want to!

I think what he meant to say is that America is losing our hegemonic position due to greed, pride, and deception.

"I totally get that nothing catches God by surprise"

Yet he becomes angry, what's up with that?

God (supposedly) knows everything, including the results of his own actions, yet suddenly he loses his rag when things turn out just the way he expected and planned. He knows every choice you are going to make (which are hence predetermined and so no free will), then throws a tantrum when you make them.

God is, clearly, insane!

"I see a lot of comments about how the collapse of America only means the rapture is very near but what if America collapses and we all succumb to horrible deaths and the rapture ISN'T very near?"

Welcome to our world. The world of everyone else, that is.

The policy of rapturists was that no matter how bad the world got, it would be okay, because *they* wouldn't have to suffer the consequences. Only the unbelievers would have to do that.

I wonder how it feels for a rapturist to realize that they are no different from the rest of the human race.

BTW, when this person says "succumb to horrible deaths", he or she may be referring to the wrathful judgement that is scheduled to befall America. You know, nuclear destruction or whatever.

You seem to forget that the current economic crisis in the US was begun by your Great God Bush, and that Obama is only the next in line who has to deal with it.
