Quote# 57363

[In response to: "Again, not everyone is a Christian, why should your religious beliefs trump your Constitution?"]

Because GOD trumps the Constitution. But folks can do whatever they want and they will. I, as a preacher of God's word, am still gonna point it out as as in while preaching the need for Jesus Christ and repentance.

You go right on ahead, just realize that your word is not law. You may think that your god trumps the Constitution, but the reality is that your god has said fuck all on the subject. Ever.

There really needs to be an actual Christian nation for these fucktards to move to. You don't like our secular country? Get the hell out.

Which is well within your rights. But when you try and LEGISLATE YOUR MORALITY ON US, that's when we cross the line from irritated to outraged.

And as a cynic and an atheist I will point at you and laugh, thus we both get to enjoy our First Amendment rights.

But the question wasn't about you preaching the need for Christ. You can preach all you want. The question was about religious beliefs trumping the constitution, i.e. religious beliefs legislated as something everyone has to follow, regardless of their own beliefs.
Don't change the subject like that.

The sad part is that even IF we actually sent all these retards to the same place (like the englishdid with the puritans back then) after a while the recessing genes would be still in minority and we'd have to go on ad infinitum...

Sorry, but that's not true.

Let me illustrate one point: I can prove the Constitution of the United States exists. Can you prove your god exists?

I'm not going to repent of having been born. If your god demands it, well you know, demand in one hand and shit in the other....

Missed the point, sure you can preach but your religion holds no athority over those who don't subscribe to it or don't believe in it.

The law of the land also applies to all your religions and you must abide by it

Isn't there something about following the law of the land in your holy book?

Preach all you want; that nasty old Constitution protects your right to do so. But if you say that your magic sky king trumps the Constitution, then Romans 13:1-7, bitch.

Well, in that case your freedom of speech and religion is gone. You will now no longer be able to assemble groups. You will no longer be allowed to protect yourself, bow to the whims of government and be a slave

amazing how they wipe their asses with the constitution while it gives them the right to mouth off and act as they do

"Again, not everyone is a Christian, why should your religious beliefs trump your Constitution?"

"Because GOD (whom I believe in by faith, a.k.a. religious belief) trumps the Constitution.

The law governs our country and it says nothing about jesus/yahweh. Now if your deity wanted to do something about it why doesn't he. Because he's either lazy, uncaring, or more likey non-existant.

I, as a preacher of God's word, am still gonna point it out as as in while preaching the need for Jesus Christ and repentance.

I have no problem with that. Neither does the Constitution. In fact, it guarantees your right to do that. You just can't use the taxpayers' employees, property or money to help you spread your own narrow brand of religion.

Because GOD trumps the Constitution.

Of course he does. What does that have to do with your beliefs? Let Him come down and spread the word Himself.
