Ignoring the stupid part... As President-Elect, he's on the state side of that equation. Didn't think of that, did you? (Not that you do much thinking anyways, I'm sure). Funny how you only believe in "separation of church and state" when it suits your needs, isn't it?
Either way, I think schools have the right to call themselves any ridiculous thing they want.
Despite the idiocy of this comment, it's probably not smart to name a school after a President till his term is over, just in case. (Not that I think there'll be any scandals, but if someone had named a 'Richard Nixon High' before Watergate, they'd have had serious egg on their face...)
Obama is NOT a false messiah; to be a false messiah YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY CLAIM TO BE THE MESSIAH!
Is this one of those schools with a name like PS-193? Yeah I think they deserve a name. Although usually you don't name a school until after the presidents term.
Didn't some city change MLK street to Regan street a while back? Why didn't the fundies have an issue with that?
Oh you were trying to be sarcastic? Fail.
Really that satanic icon really melds with your world view, you're getting into the Flesh their icebear, better watch out, you may not be vacuumed away with the rest of your nitwit compatriots.
WTF, nobody I know worships Obama?? Oh I see the problem, you're jealous. You wanted it named after someone you RR fundies worship like Palin or the Republican Party. Democrats and moderates tend not to worship people or political parties like you fundies worship the GOP.
"Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?"
"Yeah! It's like goldy and bronzy, only it's made of iron."
Theres tons of schools, libraries, airports, etc., named after presidents. Although they do normally wait till after the presidents term is up.
Bet "icebear" wouldn't be complaining if it was named after dubya, eh?
Shouldn't he being saying the same about all that shit named after Reagan? Oh yeah, the Cult of Reagan doesn't count. He was one of the good (read: white) presidents.
You know, if Christ were to come back, the Raptard Ready crowd and their ilk would be the first ones lining up to nail him back on the cross as a false messiah. Through all of their false piety they are blind to the fact that they are the equivalent of modern day Pharisees.
And let's not even go into the levels of spite and hatred they constantly spew against anything and everything that even remotely varies from their heretical doctrine, as icebear here provides a typical example. They have no idea how to be Christians.
....Yeaaah. Obama's term hasn't even started yet. I'd wait till the term was over to start naming things after him, though....
But Icebear's comment is still dumb.
It seems a bit early, but the idea is to name a public school after a public figure, not a religious one. Just because these people believe everything's about advocating a religion doesn't mean others believe the same.
This would be a valid point if they were naming the school after "Obama the Anti-Christ."
As it is, it just makes no sense.
"isn't there supposed to be separation of false messiah and state...."
There's supposed to be, but after you sheep started naming airports and boats after a false messiah you established a precedent. Unless you want to take back all the Reagan-naming you've done in the last 30 years . . .
Cool idea! "OBama High, home of the fighting Messiahs"????? " "Barrack Obama High, Home of the Army of AntiChrists??" Could they they play the "GW Bush High Failures"? How about "The Dick Cheney High War Profiteers"? "The Sarah Palin High Spenders"? "The Rapture Ready Death Cultists"?
Confused?
