a mind far far away
I love seeing the quotes from christian fundies here, and here's why. They show two things about their god, 1. that he's a bloodthirsty, hatefilled, spiteful, sadistic lunatic, and 2. that for all the power he's supposed to have, he can never seem to go against the power of humans or of nature. God is weak, and he's angry about it. So he commands gullible people who'll believe all his nonsense to kill for him. But when someone else who isn't a christian kills, and kills in a fasion they don't agree with, it's not god's will, yet it happens anyway. He sounds like one pathetic deity to me.

So doctors are more powerful than God? That's good to know. I certainly know who I'll be going to if I get sick.

If a doctor prevents a woman from dying in childbirth, it is part of God's providential plan.
If a doctor aborts a fetus, it is part of God's providential plan.
What part of omniscient and omnipotent are doctors able to defeat?
12/12/2008 2:49:08 PM
But if a baby is aborted then its not part of god's providential plan?

If you are being raped, don't fight gawd's providencial plan for you. He may intend your rape baby to be the next great prophet or messiah.

If a woman is going to die in childbirth, it is part of God's providential plan.
So why not just do away with the whole medical system then? We *CAN* save these people, but it's God's will they die. Hip hip hooray for a life expectancy of 40!
If a child is going to die in childbirth, it is part of God's providential plan.
But if it's going to die anyways, what the hell's wrong with removing it before it does harm to the woman? I seriously don't get this! One will die...why the hell does the other have to live with it, and know the little bun in the oven is in fact a death sentence?
If a doctor kills a child, it is murder, and though God may use it for good, I doubt that is was part of his plan.
For an all-powerful God, he seems to be a bit opf a pussy about these things. Doctors are the new Iron Chariots?

Well since he does everything (YOUR belief) it was

As a pregnant woman, I'd like to say...
Go fuck yourself with a cattle prod.
And yes, I will kiss my child with that mouth.

You do not make laws based on "it was gods plan"
We might as well have no laws, because anything that happens was gods plan anyway.

And you´re not capable of understanding the word CONTRADICTION.
8/17/2009 6:45:37 AM
And with that attitude, is it any wonder Atheism exists?!
8/17/2009 6:59:34 AM
I thought nothing happened without God wanting it to? He's supposed to be all-knowing and all-powerful, you know.
8/27/2010 3:31:24 PM
God's providential plan....did a door to door insurance salesman sell it to you or did you buy it over the Internet? Does it cover storm damage and broken fences as well?
Seriously, you fundies make me sick. Go somewhere and die slowly, and say hi! to God for me.
8/28/2010 12:41:45 AM
Why do you worship a God that feels the need to include the death of newborn babies as part of its plan?

The Wild One, Forever
Yet, much like my wacko sister-in-law, you probably don't object to fertility treatments. Doesn't that also interfere with God's plans? Hypocrites.

Allegory for Jesus
God sure is impotent if he can't have plans that also account for human actions.
And if every natural death is "God's plan," stop going to the doctor immediately or you are defying it.

"If a doctor kills a child, it is murder, and though God may use it for good, I doubt that is was part of his plan."
I'm sorry (no I'm not) to tell you this, but the doctor has to preform an abortion to save the mother, I would think that would be in god's plan, since he's so omniscient and all.
OR Maybe, just maybe......it wasn't part of his plan. Which would mean that he DIDN'T KNOW that the abortion was going to happen. And that means........ *gasp!* the god of the Bible isn't omniscient! And that means that your god doesn't know whether there are other Gods besides him. You know, ones who understand if the mother had to abort her child to save her life. Of course, the mother will be distraught at first but, she knows (that is, if she is Christian} that her baby is in a better place.

Well, carry this to its obvious conclusion, you hypocrite!
If a Fundie:
- breaks a leg
- gets tetanus
- catches pneumonia
- developes cancer
- has a stroke or heart attack
- receives catastrophic injuries in a car wreck
- is shot by someone, criminal or not
Or one (or more) of their kids:
- gets hit by a car
- catches measles or meningitis or TB
- is bitten by a stray animal
- receives a brain injury after a fall
- burns themselves
- developes appendicitis
Then by your reasoning, it is God's will and nobody should interfere, *ever*, for any reason.
Or does saving someone's life via modern medicine only apply to situations where YOU think it's okay? In which case: You are usurping God's decision aren't you? Are you "higher" than God? Do you have the right to make that decision?
In a case where a woman will die without an abortion (whatever stage of pregnancy she is at, including labour and delivery) then it is only self-defence to kill the "person" who is trying to kill her. Fundies seem awfully fond of the self-defense excuse for killing someone, and do not regard it as murder. How is the woman's situation any different?
By the ever expanding universe, I loathe Fundies.

This is either a male, or a woman so old she doesn't remember her childbearing years. 99.9% probability of the former. Either way, it's easy to sit back and claim it's "God's will" for someone else to suffer something you don't have to.
It's okay if women die for "God's providential plan" since they're just baby incubators anyway, right? Is that your point?
3/18/2012 11:30:10 AM
yes, the Christian God does prefer to do his own killing if it is something small. For large jobs he sends out the angel of death , who needs blood sign to tell who to kill and who to leave alone.
God needs smarter angels of death.

If a man is about to die in a heart attack, it is part of God's providential plan.
If a man is about to die of testicular cancer, it is part of God's providential plan.
Why not use the medical knowledge, which that deity of yours has supposedly provided, to save all the lives we can? It's hardly His plan to let people die that we could have saved, using the brain He has given us.
