1. China is not really a communist system and never has been.

2. Idiot George wouldn't have been able to launch his Crusade without Chinese financing.

3. China is currently investing heavily in infrastructure. The U.S. is not.

4. Pointing out that another country is doing something better than us is not "anti-American. It's realism.

Hussein just loves bashing America. And he has the gall to praise China, who is the biggest human rights violator on the planet?

I'd wager that the US isn't all that far behind china one it comes to violating human rights, so you can jump down off that high horse now.

And as China is concerned, they (The Chinese) do have a better infrastructure than the US, and China is not a strictly communist country, but rather the bastard son of communism and capitalism.

You could of course see it that, through their opposition to the rigorous thinking needed for science and scientific knowledge, the fundie churchleaders and state governments are playing into the hands of the chinese by conspiring to destroy the USA's capability for scientific advance. If they get their way, the US will become an academic and economic backwater incapable of any invention beyond intelligent design. Or is that what they really want?

In other words the fundies are the chinese agents.

Beijing a couple of years ago was the Olympics that meant ours in London will be more low-key (£9 billion, compared with China's $23 billion+). I very much doubt future Olympics will be as big as that.

If anyone on RR has IBM ThinkPad laptops, and wondered why when they have to have such repaired (or get software updates), they're via another company? One word: Lenovo (who even give Taiwan's ASUS & Acer a run for their money).
