Here's an overview of the culture war and the pitched battle for the soul of America:
~~~~~~~~~~
LIBERAL: "Human nature is inherently good! It is the social conditions [AKA Capitalism] that make people do bad things; and it is up to the *State* and the *Government*[AKA Socialism] to redeem mankind by changing the social conditions."
CONSERVATIVE: "Human nature is fallen from grace [statistically oriented toward disorder] and in need of redemption by God, not government. The only legitimate excuse that government has for existing in the first place is to protect the unalienable rights we derive from God."
LIBERAL: "God? Which god? Whose god?"
CONSERVATIVE: "The Creator of the universe."
LIBERAL: "No such thing! We enjoy a gratuitous, carefree and gay existence in an indeterminate universe in which there is no God, there are no absolutes, everything is relative and anything goes -- as long as you don't hurt anyone's feelings."
CONSERVATIVE: "We live in a rational universe created by a rational God who alone determines right and wrong."
LIBERAL: "Phooey! Right and wrong are situational, socially construed, and depend on one's point of view -- one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. You need to tone down your bigoted and homophobic hate speech."
~~~~~~~~~~

Take your pick.

Even though you tried to make it biased, I'd still go with the Liberal side.

But wait...one man's terrorist IS another man's freedom fighter.

I mean, if the terrorist thought he himself was a terrorist, I can't imagine he'd go through with it.

And a world where anything can happen at any time (if it's God's will) is NOT a rational place. When the laws of physics can be violated at will, that's not rational.

Liberal. But next time, make him more accurate. You really like to twist things around to meet your satisfaction.

All things considered, the liberals as depicted by this paintdrinker are still more appealing.

Actually, it's more like...

Atheist: Human beings are usually neither good or evil, but somewhere in the middle. Regardless of how "good" one is, however, her or she still has rights and freedoms, and is entitled to his or her basic needs.

Fundie: No, actually, we're all born with sin nature, because Eve ate the fruit and passed it down to us! So we all deserve to go to hell! Even newborn babies deserve hell! Unless you apologize to God for having been born!

Atheist: How could "sin" be passed down through thousands of generations? And how can you justify punishing someone for crimes that they didn't commit? Even if the Adam and Eve story is true -- and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that it is -- why should we be punished for something that happened thousands of years ago?

Fundie: Because God said so!

Atheist: Where is your proof that God exists?

Fundie: Everything! The fact that we are here proves that God exists! Darwin recanted evolution on his death bed! Einstein was a Christian! Hitler was an atheist! Therefore, God exists!

Atheist: None of that proves anything, nor is anything you've said true... seriously, how can you believe the word of a centuries old book that provides no evidence for its accuracy? And how is any of what you've said the least bit logical?

Fundie: Stop persecuting me!

If that's what a conversation between a Conservative and a Liberal looks like I'd hate to see what a conversation between a Republican and a Liberal looks like. The Liberal will probably be executed for treason somehow.

A rational universe created by a rational skydaddy. Yeah, that's why I have multiple vestigial bits and the world contains such joys as tapeworms and cancer.

Even in Neo-Con propaganda the Ultra-Liberals come out on top. Fucking shit that is pathetic.

You don't have liberal politicians (let alone socialists) in your country. What you call "The Left" is considered center-to-"small-c" conservatism in most parts of the world. Your politicians are essentially forced to forgo real debate about real issues in America in favour of displaying their Jeezo-groveling, conservative credentials in order to get a few votes in swing-states.

That's the tragedy of the Reagan Revolution IMHO.

So all conservatives are Christians and all liberals are atheists?

I'm not surprised you believe such bullshit, because you are clearly a dick.

Most of America is so far right wing they couldn't see the left even with Hubble telescope.

Even though this is a (poor) attempt at bias, the liberal still makes more sense. Says a lot about the conservative, ahem, argument...

As far as I was aware you don't have to be an atheist to be a liberal and you don't have to be a theist to be a conservative.

Here's an overview of the culture war and the pitched battle for the soul of America:

LIBERAL: "Human nature is inherently good! It is the social conditions [AKA christianism] that make people do bad things; and it is up to the *State* and the *Government*[AKA Traditional Western Values] to advance mankind by protecting civil rights from fundies.

CONSERVATIVE: "Human nature is fallen from grace [scientific sounding gibberish] and in need of redemption by God, not government. The only legitimate excuse that government has for existing in the first place is to justify my hatred and bigotry by invoking the authority of a giant man with a long white beard who lives on clouds.

LIBERAL: "God? Which god? Whose god?"

CONSERVATIVE: "The real god of course. My god of course. Which god do you think I'm talking about?

LIBERAL: "We live in a rational universe that can be understood by rational people using rational thought.

CONSERVATIVE: We enjoy a gratuitous, carefree and gay existence in an arbitrary universe in which there is no rhyme or reason, there are no absolutes, anything goes -- as long as you don't hurt god's feelings(or mine)."

CONSERVATIVE: "Human nature is fallen from grace [statistically oriented toward disorder] and in need of redemption by God, not government. The only legitimate excuse that government has for existing in the first place is to protect the unalienable rights we derive from God."

You fail at both the Bible and conservatism. The Bible plainly teaches that God gives us no unalienable rights, and conservatives are at least as statist as liberals.

Take your pick.

I'll pick the philosophy that gives me the best chance of successfully navigating the ever-changing shades of grey encountered in any Human situation. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
