[Did God say that earth was the only place He created life?]

(cody) it is conceivable that God created life on other planets but inconceivable that any of them were made in his image. that would mean Jesus would have to go and die on every planet that God created life in his image on.

(hasse_john) It is implied (in Job) that there is other life. Since this is the sin marred blight on the universe, I am sure we are 'Quarantined'

But if Jesus couldn't go and die on all those planets, Jesus, who is God, is not omnipotent.

Biitch.

What's really fucked up about this line of "thinking" is that if we ever do come in contact with an extra-terrestrial race who were peaceful, fundies would never accept them as people because they're not human and therefore not created in "His image" and therefore not special. No matter how advanced or intelligent, christians like cody would deem them inferior and no more above that of an earthworm because they have no "soul".

It's about chemistry. Science will reveal what life may be like elsewhere. Religion is something we should have outgrown long ago.

"that would mean Jesus would have to go and die on every planet that God created life in his image on. "

Wouldn't this mean that every planet where God created sentient life, that life disobeyed God? Like over and over again?

Wouldn't this imply a flawed creator?

At least according your (ahem) ..."Logic"

Following the Cody's logic, only nowadays Palestinian would be made to his image, because that's where Jesus was born and crucified. And the same applies to hasse_John.

Jesus was into bondage, he LOVED to die over and over again.

Besides, according to your big book o' fairy tales he ''dissapeared'' from his ''last'' resting place.

I call for U.S.S Enterprise.

Yeah, dying and coming back to life once is hard enough! What else do you want, you vultures?

Blasphemy! The Covenant are the only ones who were made in God's image!

Of course, failing to take into account the fact that the whole universe is destroyed in order to remove our sin marred blight...

I really wonder if we ever find aliens, if they have fundies like this who claim we can't be made in their god's image, 'cause we're two-legged and two-armed and hairy and don't have any Cthulhu-like tentacles.

Right on! Let's make sure we carry on the Christian tradition of shame-based guilt. After all, how else would the Christian church keep us under its thumb?

It is implied (in Job) that there is other life.

What a shame Job is a stolen mythological fable that was re-shaped to fit the Christian doctrine.

"Since this is the sin marred blight on the universe, I am sure we are 'Quarantined'"

This might not be far off from the truth. If you were an alien, would you choose to visit a planet full of fundies that would mistake you for the beast of revelation and/or god upon your landing?

They will only land on Earth when all the fundies are gone.

Totally unfamiliar with any philosophical concepts of God. They don't even know such concepts exist. To them, God is a bearded white male who wants nothing to do with other life forms.

"that would mean Jesus would have to go and die on every planet that God created life in his image on."

...Wait a minute. Is Cody saying that it's inevitable that any population made in God's image would have to have become entranced by sin and corruption?

I wish they'd make up their minds. Is sin necessary or not necessary to God's ideals?!
