Yeah, and Islam owes everything it's ever achieved to the Babylonians. The Koran borrows heavily from Gilgamesh.
Only an ignorant fool would try to deny this!
Wow, making s**t up is fun!

The Islamic world was leading in terms of human rights, progressive knowledge and many other factors. Then Europe adopted the mantle and Islam became locked into a reactionary stagnation. Only an ignorant fool would try to deny this.

Yes, the Islamic world did at one time have the world's most advanced civilization. Then it closed the gates of ijtihad (reasoned interpretation of the sources) and fundified. That's a compelling argument, but not one for fundy Islam.

Pretty sure the philosophy and science mostly came from the Greeks. And the theology wouldn't help even if the Crusaders were all right with it.

Nobody is denying that Islamic civilisations at the time of the Crusades were among the most enlightened and advanced on the planet. Trouble is, they then caught fundamentalism and became so obsessed with trying to preserve that status that they now suppress most of the greatest benefits it gave in doing so, such as political and intellectual freedom.
Much like the Americans' recent attempts to "force people to be free", your methods in attempting to return to the Islamic Golden Age are in direct opposition to most of the qualities that actually made it desirable.

Golden age ? Without islam, there wouldn't be Islamic terrorism and excision of little girl in africa, and many others atrocity.
The worst atrocities ever commited are all due to religious beliefs, faith and organisation.

Islamic theology, philosophy and science are the foundations of modern society.
Not in the western world, sorry. Perhaps you're talking about "modern" Saudi society.

actually, the Islamic world also stole a lot from the Classical Scolars of ancient Greece.
And yet, MADMAX is somewhat right. The Muslim world used to be the most modern society in the world. When Europe was stuck in the middle ages, the muslim world was busy inventing algebra and learning about the stars.
However, it's funny that a fundamentalist is now touting with the very thing he himself distroyed

Its the nature of civilisation. Religion goes through phases of change. So Islam is going through its "dark" age now. Every faith has that problem, its the flaw in faith.
The rennaisance was influenced heavily by Islam, but the religious fervour of the crusaders rubbed off onto their opponents. The more a faith is "backed into a corner" the more crazy it gets. And there is a good deal of science being carried out by Muslims. Its just that there are places like Saudi which take many steps back for every step humanity takes forwards.
Lest we forget, the most suicide bombings were carried out by Hindus from the LTTE, not Islamic fundies. A religion we have classed as "peaceful" is also one in the longest civil war on earth.

Islamic theology and science are two mutually contradictory things. Only a stupid fundie would not know this, as you just demonstrated.

Actually, a lot of this is true. The main problem is that Islamic societies haven't progressed very much at all in the last thousand years or so.

Ok, instead of arguing with these boobs ourselves, let's just sit this dude and one of those "Christianity has done everything good in the past 2 millenia" people in a room and lock the door. We'll get hours of hilarious television footage that will make us all rich!

All the advancements by the "Muslims" were pre-Mohammed anyways so these "Islamic advancements" really came from pagan camel jockeys.
