If you read the rules God gave to have a perfect society, they are phenomenal.
Like stoning disobedient children.
[...] Whenever somebody commits the following crimes they are to be executed, publicly.
Yep, public executions sure make a society great, just look at Saudi Arabia, oh wait.
[...]
I think Man is designed to need that satisfaction, that relief of taking vengeance.
Yeah, we really need to kill people... If what you say is so, then why is murder a crime?
I think that is way God - I think that is the way human nature is.
MORE BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! MORE SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!

So Hovind disobeys a PRINCIPAL commandment from his Lord.
I'm quite sure he can find something in the OT or hte Pauline writings to back up his case that Jesus was a touchy-feely hippy

"And whoever is the offended party gets to throw the first stone"
That line had me just about ready to call Poe (I mean, seriously, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" is like, the most famous of Jesus' lines), but then I saw who said it.

It's too bad that tax evasion isn't on that list.

Given that the source is a quotes site, this is a bit like FSTDT posting something from RSTDT. Still, thanks for the introduction to this site.

There is just the relief when you get to throw the rock at the person who offended you, or harmed you, or raped you, or stole from you, or something.
Kind of like...oh let's say...tax evasion?

Whenever somebody commits the following crimes they are to be executed, publicly.
1. Exodus 20:13
"You shall not murder."
2. Luke 6:37
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
And whoever is the offended party gets to throw the first stone
John 8:7 ..."If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

Wow. I just got this appalling mental image of Kent Hovind with a tiny boner, standing in his front yard with a big bag of rocks, hurling one at every passer-by (as probably guilty of something) while ecstatically jerking off and shouting, "Jesus! Jesus! Ohhh, yessss Jeeezus!"
But that occurs to me all the time anyway.

When I was young I thought that meant that Jesus wanted to hit her with a rock first.

But you don't get to throw the first rock at the person who rapes you. You have to marry him.

God's law is clearly not the law of a divine omnipotent God. It's based on a primative vengeance driven culture that was years behind it's contemporaries. Hell the Hittites had the most just laws in the Middle-East and they didn't claim divinity of their kingship.
