"It is God before country, my son leaves Monday for Marine boot camp. I am remidning him of that as he leaves. Serve to that absolute best of your ability, but never forget whom you serve first."
My nephew's in the British Army; the East Yourkshire Regiment (curremtly in Afghanistan). He's paid in Pounds Sterling. Nowhere on our currency does it say 'In God We Trust' (which only appeared on US currency in 1954 onwards; the 'Red Scare', and all that jazz). But it
does have something infinitely more important and, dare I say it, world-changing:
I think the above motivational poster says it all. And consider what's on the front:
"Serve to that absolute best of your ability, but never forget whom you serve first."
Over here, there's the well-known saying, 'For
Queen and Country'.
My nephew never forgets whom he serves first, neither.
There's a phrase I have that I use often, which is very relevant in your case, Boash (and everyone on Ruptured Retards):
Americentricism. It should be illegal.
