[A RRite reacting to the story about a Marine forcing coins with Bible quotes upon Iraqi]
It is God before country, my son leaves Monday for Marine boot camp. I am remidning him of that as he leaves. Serve to that absolute best of your ability, but never forget whom you serve first.

You wanna go proselytize, join a missionary group. The Marines are there to protect the country. They are sworn to protect the people and the constitution. God isn't, unless I'm gravely mistaken, even mentioned, let alone who they serve above all else.

My nephew's in the British Army; the East Yourkshire Regiment (curremtly in Afghanistan). He's paid in Pounds Sterling. Nowhere on our currency does it say 'In God We Trust' (which only appeared on US currency in 1954 onwards; the 'Red Scare', and all that jazz). But it does have something infinitely more important and, dare I say it, world-changing:

I think the above motivational poster says it all. And consider what's on the front:

Over here, there's the well-known saying, 'For Queen and Country'. My nephew never forgets whom he serves first, neither.
There's a phrase I have that I use often, which is very relevant in your case, Boash (and everyone on Ruptured Retards): Americentricism. It should be illegal.
If he is wearing the uniform, it better damn well be the USA that he serves first. And if he tries to push Christianity on the residents of a Muslim country, he will endanger himself and his entire unit.
“It is God before country,”
If you believe that, then don’t take a job that makes you a representative of our secular government.
“ my son leaves Monday for Marine boot camp.”
Good for him. I always liked the marines. They were invented so us sailors wouldn’t get hurt.

Render unto Caesar, and the Commandant, that which belongs to Caesar, and the Commandant.
Uncle Sam isn’t sending him overseas to spread your superstition. Not even sending him to the barracks to do that. Join in fellowship with like-minded people, but don’t bother the rest of us.
Confused?
