Quote# 390

One of the chief reasons for getting married is to raise children in the faith and fear of God. If a couple knows that they are barren, and they have no intention to adopt, etc... to have a child, then I wouldn't officiate at their wedding. The issue is the openness to life.

So, by this guy's logic, then, Abraham and Sarah had a bogus marriage until they were in their 90s, since she was barren.

Fucktard indeed.

And of course, we all know that life begins at conception and ends at age 18 (or whatever the age of marital consent it wherever you are). After you reach that age, your own life is null and void, and only procreation is of any value.

Fucktard.

So basically Samuel's mother was sinful in the bible before she had Samuel?! I say this only because it's my name so I find it amusing.

Fr. Rob, My brother's a post-op transsexual, and he really wants to raise a family in his faith. You'd officiate at his wedding, right?

So they should just live in sin, huh? I'm glad we have that settled.

The issue is the openness to life.

...By closing your mind to its variants, right?

Irony meter go PING!

Absolutely! You should NEVER get married because you love someone and want to spend your life with them; rather, you should get married, breed lots of kids, brainwash them to be just like you, and make it illegal for barren people to get married at all, thus dong away with invalid unions AND HUMAN RIGHTS AT THE SAME TIME.

I wonder what you'll be reincarnated as...

I'm not going to raise any child in "fear" of anything. Not even in fear of a god, not even if I knew for a fact that one existed.

Fuck you.

First you say that having kids is ONE of the reasons, then you say it's the ONLY reason. Please make up your mind. And, as you probably think that people should stay virgins until they marry (especially the women, right?), please also tell us how you know that you are barren before you have tried.

I wouldn't have wanted you officiating at my wedding. My wedding was a happy, positive, loving experience, not a fearsome bullying thing.

Me and hubby are open to life; to our life together.
Even if we could have children, we would never raise them in fear of something that seems not to exist. We'd raise them to have faith in themselves, to be loving, generous, open to life. Not closed and excluding like you.

@ The Duelist: My vote would be for housefly. Simply because there's a good chance he wouldn't last the whole adult cycle and get to mate before someone flattens him. Don't know of any insect or mites, aside from Sarcoptes scabiei, that live for shorter periods.

An excellent point, Elia, but don't forget the Karmic irony of that probability; houseflies are often born in refuse, or crap. So if Robby the Retarded Robot believes in crap like this all his life, then' he will probably be reborn in crap too.

What if they can´t adopt for some reason?. And does it mean that they should divorce once they are 55?

"If a couple knows that they are barren, and they have no intention to adopt, etc... to have a child, then I wouldn't officiate at their wedding."

Just because you lack the mental flexibility to re-think a position does not mean that everyone else in the world does.

So now that I'm married I am obliged to father a child and then teach him/her to be terrified of a vengeful god who allegedly loves everybody anyway but who will condemn a person to eternal hell for the tiniest transgression?

Fuck. Right. Off. Moron.

if Fr means Father then he needs to read his bible a little more carefully.

A woman may not know she is barren since she is a virgin before marriage, or she gets killed by stoning.

Once she is married there is no divorce. Marriage is a lifelong commitment "till death do you part".

a man missing his goodies is not permitted in the church because he is a eunuch.

This Fr Rob is obviously not a christian.
