Why do fundies always suggest that the devil can magically warp people's minds, pervert people's holy texts, and make them think things that are not true, and yet do so without considering for a split second that this could quite easily translate over to their own beliefs, experiences of God, and their own holy book. Seriously, the biggest problem with shari'ah law is that the conservatives that have the power in the Middle East are extremely adverse to bringing the law into the modern era. The law is literally stuck in the Middle Ages, when it was closed off to independent thinking and legislation.

"Kill the unbelievers" is not exclusive to Islam. I think you'll find it's present in all the Abrahamic religions.
It's in the old testament, it's in the new testament, and I'm pretty sure it's in the qu'ran as well.
The difference between fundamentalist Muslims and you is that most of them don't have secular law to keep the violent ones in line.

Well, I think that's completely true.
But then I also think that God and Satan are names given to two opposing ecological forces.
But then I also think that ecology is the science of change and interrelation of any given systems (so that it includes social and natural sciences - and pretty much anything that interacts with anything).
So, basically, people being irresponsible daft assholes and Satan are pretty much the same thing in my universe.
Though, I don't think that's what this fundie meant.
