Quote# 37057

Homosexuals in the Workplace. I could write a book on that topic. Years ago a homosexual asked me at least once a week when will we go out for drinks. At first I politely declined. He was determined and persistent. Finally I complained to a supervisor about his behavior. His employment was terminated the next day. I later learned that I was not the first person he harassed in that manner. He was warned on several other occasions about his behavior. I felt bad about his losing his job but he brought it upon himself.

I too witness every day the evil, arrogant, constant fowl mouthed comments of my coworkers. I try very hard to be the shining light but the deep darkness surrounding me every day is almost too much to bear. Quitting is not an option for me because I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now. I witness to them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior. It seems that they go out of their way to mock my faith. I pray continuously for them and for God to deliver me from them. I know that I am there for a reason. Perhaps one day my example will bear fruits.

Daniel isn't interested in a woman.
I think he is hot for the cock of their long haired, nordic, white, lightly muscled savior (look at their avatars and sigs on RR).
All incorrect of course.
Jews wore their hair short
A semite.
At least olive brown, possibly black
A carpenter at that time would be very well muscled.

Okay, so... This guy asks you to get drinks and that's a big no-no? Was he really harassing anyone or did they just perceive it as such because he was gay? Maybe he just wanted to be friendly... And how is it not okay for him to ask people if they want to socialize (unless he was really harassing people, but somehow I kind of doubt it) and it is okay for you to 'witness' to people?

That's just messed up and I'd bet if this is really true the homosexual was fired simply for being homosexual.

Hell, I was banned even BEFORE I got to get a membership- it might have had something with me using my same sig over there that I use here.

I've heard of paraniod- but damn, that's just ridiculous- I guess they don't want non-believers(TM) using up their bandwidth confusing the Sheeple with reality.

Do they maintain a blaclist of all dirty 'ole non-believers(TM)?

I'll just betcha they just LOVE us over here at FSTDT.

I saw one person get banned over there because she dared to say that the rapture may not come in our lifetimes. She believed in the rapture, just stated that people had been waiting 2000 years and how did we know it wasn't going to be another 1000 years.

So if they ban over something like that, anyone actually connected to reality is pure evil.

Assuming you aren't lying for Jesus, that guy deserved to be fired, and beyond. That's harassment.

Wait, wait, wait. This has to be a troll. There is no way that anyone could write these two stories right next too each other and not draw the parallel that they were committing the same behavior as the "homosexual" guy only they had the excuse of trying to brainwash others into their crazy beliefs and the gay guiy just wanted to get some.

Heh, Daniel has no idea of the irony in ending his rant with the word 'fruit'.

"I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now. [...] I know that I am there for a reason."

That reason is money, as you yourself pointed out. Greed is a mortal sin, so no Rapture for you.

And you are collecting the fruit of your greed and double standards.

I try very hard to be the shining light but the deep darkness surrounding me every day is almost too much to bear.

All you have to do is treat your co-workers in a civil manner and they will do the same to you. This would involve not spouting bullshit at them that has no basis in fact.

Quitting is not an option for me because I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now.

Tough. If you want to "witness" to people all day long, then become a pastor.

I witness to them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior.

If you spout ridiculous drivel at people, expect to be ridiculed.

It seems that they go out of their way to mock my faith.

Well if you would stop having a faith that was so easy to mock, then maybe they would get bored.

I know you feel bad, but lets face it, you brought it upon yourself.

I am rather glad to be in the UK. We don't have nutjobs like this here - at least not in my workplace. We do have a couple of gay workers but they are discreet. Everyone knows: but they are discreet.
The only harassment you get is from Roland - who is gay - who happens to be the Union organiser and he really, really wants you to sign up for the Union. He really, really wants to tell you about the fascinating pay negotiations...
I don't think we've got anyone openly Christian in the workplace.

Don't nag them about your savior and they will stop winding you up. You're the office fruit, that's your only example.

I work in tech support and I don't know of any Wiccans in my workplace. They are mainly a mix of atheists, Moslems, and Catholics. I'm the token Jew. We need more Wiccans!

At first I politely declined. He was determined and persistent. Finally I complained to a supervisor about his behavior.

You know, assuming this isn't bullshit, you didn't have to go all the way from "polite decline" to "get his ass fired" in one go. Did it occur to you that perhaps you just didn't make yourself clear?

And, as has already been mentioned, lots of straight guys go drinking together. It's a social thing; perhaps you're not used to social activity outside the extremely limited example of your religious meetings, which tend to encourage seperation from and feelings of arrogant condescention toward anyone not in your little cult. It's not even as if the alcohol is a real barrier; most people will understand if you join them for drinks and the associated socialising and chat but don't actually take in any alcohol.

The whole situation is probably a lie, the guy probably wasn't even gay. OP's homophobia just kicked in and he assumed that any guy being nice to him was probably gay...

I have been banned from RR. Went there to check out Daniel.

I should never used polysyllabic words in my posts. A dead give away.

"You have been banned for the following reason:
Troll

Date the ban will be lifted: Never"

Better than me, man. I got banned before I even got a chance to post!

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Going out for drinks is something people usually do with friends or to better get to know someone in an effort to become friends with someone. You're either seriously exaggerating or the guy in question actually did overstep his bounds. I'd wager it's the former.
