Quote# 36355

[After being told by another user (not me in this case) that "chimps have a baculum (penis bone) and humans don't. The other 206 bones, though, are in one-to-one correspondence", Guzman's reply was this classic:]

and what about the bones and organs in bacteria?...are we truly just enlarged bacteria? If not you better come up with an explanation for the novelty.

Bones and organs are made of tissues, which are made of cells. A bacteria is just one cell. So no Supersport, more acutely we are vast colonies of trillion of different specialized and highly evolved bacteria.

.............please tell me he doesn't really think that bacteria have bones? That would be utterly retarded even by fundie standards.

Actually we have organelles called Mitochondria. They are bacterial in origin. We have evolved to use mitochondria to power our bodies. Its a fun read...

You know less about science than a chimpanzee's penis bone does.

How do you even respond to something like that in debate? You would have to be dealing with someone who has not even had elementary school level biology.

Bacteria are single celled organisms. They don't have bones or organs.

Truly, you should win a Nobel Prize in Biology if you haven't already. Your grasp of the field is unparalleled.

We haven't compared the bones and organs of bacteria with those of humans because no one had devised instruments teensy-tinsy enough to get them out.
