As a Jew, I can honestly say THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ANYTHING! Yes, they use significant parts of one of our books, but that does not mean we share the same heritage.

Sooo... torturing and burning people accused of being witches isn't considered killing?
Sanctimonious prick.

No other civilisation? Mesopotamia. China. Greece. Rome. Also the killing, well there were the crusuades, burning of witches, and throughout the Bible god slaughters many people.

1. Since when has your average American Christian ACTUALLY cared for someone less fortunate?
2. People had a concept of Freedom BEFORE civilization and especially religion, only in "civilized" places i.e. Moses' Egypt, Greece, Rome, Muslim Arabia, pre-Civil-War America, etc. was there ever a concept of slavery.
3. People still steal (I steal office supplies, some people steal from the American Treasury, Haliburton, Blackwater, KBR, hey whatever).
4. An average of at LEAST one person a day is murdered in places like Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Washington, Baltimore, etc. and hundreds of cities all over the world, even (dare I say especially) where Judeo-Christian beliefs are present.

Technically, the last sentence of that post is correct... if you apply it to the 4 sentences immediately before it.

"Prior to these Judeo-Christian principles, people were eating each other, there was no "civilization" as we know it. If you believe these words, you are an idiot."
The Mesopotamians, Babylonians, Egyptians and Chinese would all like to have a word with you about that.

In that case, ALL countries in the world were based on Judeo-Christian principles, even long before Christ was born. Moreover, how do you reconcile charity if you don't accept welfare?

People stoped eating each other long before Christ was born. Look at Greece, Rome, Sumer, India, China, etc............

Okay, so according to you we were all "animals" until Jesus showed up, then we all became "civilized" and quit stealing, killing, and started helping the less fortunate?
Step out of your livingroom, open a newspaper, then open a history book.
And the founding fathers were Diests. For fuck sakes I'm a Canadian and I know that.

You can't offer proof of civilization prior to Christianity to people like this. If you do, they just consider it proof of their point - for no reason at all. It's best to nod and smile.

Judeo-Christian principles introduced the world to caring for others, care of the less fortunate, freedom, not stealing, killing, et al.
Then how come much of the old testament is spent killing other tribes and stealing their stuff, and much of the new testament is spent denouncing and spewing hatred for anyone who doesn't conform to your rigid world view?
Even if things were worse before your lot came along, which I frankly doubt, we secular rationals have in turn moved a long way forwards from there.

this.
