Quote# 3177

['How do you know the bible is God's word?']The Bible says so… The word inspiration literally means 'God-breathed' in the Greek. And because Scripture is breathed out by God, it is true and inerrant.

The thing is that no matter how hard you try to explain this to them, they just don't get it.

If God's word is infallible, then it says a whole lot to me about the interpreters.

no, but close. the word \"inspire\" comes from the latin word \"spirare\", to breathe. the \"in\" part comes from the latin word \"in\" which means \"in\". so \"to breathe in\". I have no idea where you got God out of this. Deus = latin for god and Theos = greek for god. neither of these are in that word anywhere.

The bible says it was written by god and it's true because the bible said it was written by god and... Now that is circular reasoning.

Look now
You people continually misuse the meaning of English words (Liberal, Communist, Atheist, Morals, Compassion, Nazi,,etc,,,)

You're the last people I'd go to for tranlating other languages. Because as usual, you're making shit up.
