Quote# 31564

Viewed in this light, we can see that atheism is simply a form of racism.

This is actually not surprising. Atheists tend to be eugenicists, which is to say, they tend to be racists. Christians do not wish to “breed a race of thoroughbreds”, as Margaret Sanger urged. American Christians may have enslaved blacks, but English Christians, and subsequently American Christians, were also at the forefront of the abolition movement. Catholic Christianity invented the orphanage, the university and largely invented the hospital. Because Christians who live Christian Faith care for the well-being of every man, Christians improve every man. Contrast this to the atheists, who simply write off large segments of humanity as insufficiently well-endowed by genes or circumstance, unworthy of the social resources necessary to maintain them.

For a logically consistent atheist, altruism enables mediocrity. There are people whose best will never even approach adequacy; investing resources into these people is a dead loss from an atheistic economic perspective.

Let's pile it higher and deeper, Steve. Don't let facts or logic stop you. Just keep shoveling.

You're the ones breeding a race of fucktards.

Atheism has nothing to do with eugenics.

Steve Kellmeyer, with your brand of complete and biased sweeping generalizations are closer to a racist then you think.

Margaret Sanger aligned herself with eugenicists in order to garner financial support. It was a questionable move but not actually a part of her ideology. Atheists do not worship Sanger, nor do they generally hate humanity, and they are a part of every race. Christianity works on the assumption that certain people are better than others, and these people are usually Western, so there is more room for racism (a la Ham and slave scripture). For atheists in general, the biggest difference is that we don't depend on religion to determine our morality. It's often humanistic and altruistic because this life is all that we have. I'd keep going, but I'm not particularly coherant at the moment.

How does any of that follow, and where the hell did you get that original premise from?

And why are you telling us what we believe anyway? It's like a Republican telling a Democrat how to run a campaign.

Hm, it's logically consistent to ignore altruism for a eugenicist (is that even a real word?), but this is a gross misrepresentation of Atheists. Just like it's wrong to describe all Muslims as sociopath, towel-head terrorists; all Jews as greedy, but mirthful schmucks; and all Christians as holier-than-thou pretentious twits; none of these generalizations is true.

There also seems to be a healthy dose of NO TRUE SCOTSMAN!! Solid stupids, but not really a good fundie... No mention of KJV 4 EVA! or calling Catholics evil, heartless, cannibal blasphemers.

Don't you think line 1 is a little counter-productive???

Hasn't that been the Democrat strategy for the past 5 years or so?

Catholic Christianity invented the orphanage, the university and largely invented the hospital.

GAH! The history failure is killing me!

I guess he's claiming the ancient Greeks never existed, or something, because I can't see any other way how you could claim that otherwise.

So not believing there's an invisible, all-seeing, all-powerful man in the sky is racist then?

Another argument I'm quite tired of hearing is the "Liberal leader X said something terrible, therefore liberals believe something terrible." We are not some giant, monolithic whole who all believe the same things. I don't worship Margaret Sanger, nor do I agree with everything she said and did. Don't tell me what I believe, and don't tie it to what Margaret Sanger believed.

Does this dumb fuck even realize that humans evolved as social animals? We instinctally help others in our society (after our needs are met) because it probably confers some evolutionary advantage for us.

Classic:

No, I think the Democratic strategy has just been to sit there and mumble incoherently while enrage liberals pound on the door trying to get them to do something. Pelosi in particular pisses me off because she's got the leadership ability in spades and won't use it. Reid, however, and Daschle before him, are incompetent milquetoasts.

Explain to me, then, why you oppose wellfare, using supposed Christian material, why the overwhelming majority of racists are Christians, and why eugenics was in vogue in the more religiously observant twenties, when people were sterilised.

I assume you're referring to atheists as 'evolutionists' when you call them eugenicists.

For the last time, Darwin's science can be used to justify eugenics, yes. Darwin's cousin actually did this, yes, although Darwin himself denounced it.

But since Darwin's science is descriptive, not prescriptive, the fact that it can be used to promote eugenics does not make it wrong, nor does it necessarily follow that everyone who believes it uses it for that.

As to the title of the website, wasn't the Bible pretty specific about bearing false witness?

" American Christians, were also at the forefront of the abolition movement."

American christians, of the type you accept as real christians, defended slavery and Jim Crow laws. The christians who opposed slavery in the 1800 are considered false christians by the batshit insane "real" christians.

Actually, in the United States, the vast majority of government recognized hate groups are in the Bible Belt, or other highly religious areas.

There is also a strong correlation between racism, and religiosity, at least in the United States, the UK, and the Middle East.
