If John Lennon was praying for a world without God, who was he praying TO?
Do you hear that sound, Mike? It's the FAIL buzzer........

If you haven't read the book, do yourself a favor and shut up and go away. There's only a very few cases you can review a book with only flipping through it (none of which involve fiction) and all of those require you to at least skim them.

You know, I was going to skip this movie. That was until I heard the fundies frothing at the mouth about it. Now I can't wait for it to come out, and I'm going to read the books while waiting! Thanks fundies. If I'm ever in doubt about what to read or watch, all I have to do is see what they hate.

"I haven't read the books myself... I admit as much..."
Then STFU.
Oh and if you're talking about the line from Imagine, John Lennon said "no religion", not "no god". In other words, he thought the world would be a better place if it wasn't populated by idiots who use god as an excuse to behave stupidly.

Well, Mike, I'd gladly go to war with you, but I've got some others all picked out who are supider and meaner than you. I'm afraid you'll have to get in line...

Haven't read the books? So you know nothing about them. Haven't seen the movie either?
Well, you are well informed, aren't you?

I haven't read the book.............of course, it sticks out a mile and that you don't know what a metaphore means. By the way, the guy was an atheist, but the authority refers back to something else.

All aspects of visible Christianity are gone outside of our Churches and homes.
That's because everyone in Mike's church and home is a Christian; whereas on the outside, that's not true. On the outside, people don't want Mike trying to push his religion onto them and their kids.

That is precisely where your religion belongs. And everyone else's for that matter.

So God is portrayed as oppressive and cruel in the book, huh. Sounds eerily similar to another book you might've heard of. The bible, anyone?

CONSIDER .. prayer in school is limited. Prayer at work is gone. All aspects of visible Christianity are gone outside of our Churches and homes.
You mean just like what Jesus said to do.

Don't tell Mike (aka: "I don't read books, but will gladly review them with authority") about the daemons. That'll really get his religious dander up.

"...prayer in school is limited."
So...ah...what prayers should we include then? Seeing as how this is a country founded on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, to include and enforce prayer in school would force us to include all religions, or at least all religions within the class...which could mean we'd have to force your precious child to recite heathen prayers. You don't want that, do you?
"Prayer at work is gone."
It lowers productivity. Deal with it. (YES, I understand the irony of the fact that I'm posting this from work. It's a slow day.)
"All aspects of visible Christianity are gone outside of our Churches and homes."
So we ask you not to force your religion on us. That's so unbearable? Give me a break. Hell, your religion gets more air time in the public space than most of the rest combined, so go suck your thumb in the corner, and come out when you're ready to be civil.
