And here's yet another nofundie...
11/13/2007 1:25:51 AM
It is FICTION! Can't you people get that concept thru your heads?

Mike wins. Oh yes...Mike wins.
Kudos, sir. *Bows*

Thank you, Tempus
11/13/2007 2:29:37 AM
And Pokemon also teaches children evolution.
11/13/2007 2:34:35 AM
1. I wonder if this person thinks "evolution" in Pokemon is even remotely related to biological evolution. Sadly I think he does.
2. How can psychic powers merely "appear supernatural"? If they're really psychic powers they're supernatural by definition.
3. Pokemon aren't demons. They're pets with an elaborate collecting and fighting system around the concept.

fundie world must be like a comic book where everything you don't like was created for the sole purpose of damning millions of people to Hell.

This Rev. Chambers is in serious need of an anti-psychotic. His delusions are out of control.
11/13/2007 5:43:01 AM
I think he's jumping to conclusions because 'Pokemon' is short for 'pocket monsters'. I don't think he realises that in many contexts (such as heraldry, which I study as a hobby) 'monster' simply means a fictitious beast and doesn't have to mean anything evil.
11/13/2007 5:52:57 AM
The pokeman?! The pokeman?! You mean the game with the man and the poke and the man goes into the haa haa haa haa haa ha!
11/13/2007 5:56:53 AM
Good to see the theology course was money well spent
11/13/2007 6:20:30 AM
Harry Potter and The Golden Compass.
I need another cup of coffee. I read that as a book title.
11/13/2007 6:23:22 AM
What about those talking dolls? They have devils in them too.
11/13/2007 6:44:45 AM
The game is Japanese, a country where the predominant religion is Shinto and Buddhism, the latter non-theistic, and they don't have the notion of "demon". Moreover, the game consist in two pets who fight, directed by their trainers, using their characteristic abilities and they can improve them by "evolving", that is, changing in nature. Are you sure you read it or suffered from epilepsy when Pikachu shocked?
11/13/2007 7:49:32 AM
Yes, because electric chinchillas = the Devil.
It's fiction. There are no demons in the game. And you're a delusional moron.
Get thee to a nuttery!
(Heh, "nuttery." New favourite word.)
11/13/2007 8:21:41 AM
Pikachu, the Fallen Angel.
11/13/2007 9:09:19 AM
What part of FICTION do you not understnad?!
11/13/2007 9:45:54 AM
Or alternatively it could be a game for children, or pasty faced teenagers with too much time on their hands who live in the attic . . .
11/13/2007 9:54:59 AM
I am surprised nobody else linked to the humorous editorial cartoon on this subject: http://www.pawcreek.org/articles_pcm/end_times/pokemon1-cartoon.htm

What is it with fundies and pokemon?
To be honest, I would rather have my kids (if I had any) watch pokemon than something like "Passion of the Christ".
Apparently, little yellow mouse that goes "pika pika" = bad, 2+ hours of whipping and gruesome torture = good
11/13/2007 11:02:05 AM
Come on people. Seriously. It is a game. Entertainment. And no basis on reality.
11/13/2007 12:16:03 PM
"You sure are late to the party. Pokemans is so 1999. You're supposed to be bitching about Harry Potter and The Golden Compass. Get with the times dude."
Don't be too hard on him.
Fundies are just now
finding out about My Little Pony and Rainbow Brite....
11/13/2007 2:58:31 PM
No, Sorceries are in Magic, a superior card game (the Pokemon video games still rock, though).
11/13/2007 3:47:32 PM
And you have a problem with conquering and subduing evil? Besides, none of either of those things is real.
