I have to agree about the S.A.D. diet! Standard American Diet!!! All prepackaged sugar and fat!!!! Now I ask you...Did they have dorito trees and fruit loop bushes in the Garden of Eden???? I think not!!!! They ate raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds!!! Read in Genesis what they ate in the Garden!!! I can assure you it was not 1-800-Dominoes!!!!

Didn't God throw Adam and Eve out of the GOE for eating an apple?

Chinese take-out would have been better or they could've driven the dinosaur down for some Egyptian cakes and pastries.

I know! Look what happened! They ate an apple and it killed them! And not to mention the cursing...hell, if they'd just stuck to freaking pizza we would've all been alright!

Where's that Domino's number again?...

And I assume you hunt your own game and grow your own crops then.

Too bad they didn't eat snake.

Tastes like chicken.

To be fair though, s/he does kind of have a point about some of the crap people regularly eat these days.

Methinks she needs to go on a punctuation diet.

Sounds like a native south-american diet.

Before christianity came along, that is.

It's a bit over the top, but she has a point buried in all of the Bible babble.

I agree, it's a good point. Shame about the stupid comparison.

I read genesis, it doesn't say what they ate, other than the magic fruit.

It's a funny thing -- we do have a pretty good idea of what they ate in Biblical times, but we didn't get it from the Bible.

Jeff Smith, the Frugal Gourmet, even wrote a whole book about it, but given his research standards, I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a source...

She's actually right about all the sugar and fat in a standard North American diet. Too bad she then goes on about religious BS.

Well, that you advocate healthy eating habits is a good thing but...

Can't you do that without the bible?

Marcy, you can't keep blaming Domino's for your thunderthighs.

Of course they didn't eat "1-800-Dominoes". You can't eat phone numbers.

She's right about the fat, sugar, and lack of fruits and vegetables in the average American's diet. But why not just leave the Garden of Eden thing out? All that does is distract the reader from the main point.

Wait, is this a vegetarian christian fundie? The stereotype involves almost carnivorus diets, as well as incest, illiteracy and voting for bush.

They ate raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds!!!

Aren't there a few fruits and vegetables that'll kill you damn quick if you don't cook them before eating them? And can you say "protein deficiency"?

Besides, even if you ignore those foods which are toxic uncooked and manage to scrape together enough complete protein from those few available non-animal sources (You're pretty much doomed there if you've any serious allergies), eating raw food is a recipe for swift, agonising death in a pre-industrial, pre-germ theory world with only the most basic notions of sanitation. Hell, many ancient (and not-so-ancient) civilisations used to fertilise crops with untreated human sewage, for crying out loud! Mmm, nothing spices up a salad like parasites and dysentery.

They didn't have wine, bread or roasted lambs, and they appear continuously in the NT parables.

Yes, I think we can all agree that nobody ate fast food until at least shortly after it began existing. Now what the crap is your point?
